During the Illuminate festival. Cross streets were closed off , Argyle was busy (typical due to event) limited parking though. You find yourself circling .. however, on a typical day it's the same. It's all about timing. Botanic gardens are always nice to walk through. First time doing so at night on this particular night. Newly built playground for kids and upgraded/refurbished bbq area/footpath and toilets. Dog friendly park, make sure you pick up after your pooch, foot levered water holes for your dog while you use the bubbler and or fill up your water bottle. Bins are few and far between. Workout equipment Football/sports field and tennis courts are also accessible. You can follow the footpath past the kids playground and just a 5 minute walk over a foot bridge you will enter Picton Sports ground along with a fenced , large dog park. The garden itself is very well maintained and is a lovely place. There are plenty of covered tables and benches to enjoy a picnic. Families also sat in the shade of some beautiful and shady old trees. People were even fishing along the river that flows through the park. Public toilets are available.
