EDITED: Went in to get a takeaway coffee at last month's Cars and Coffee. Waited what felt like forever for a coffee and several people who ordered well after me received theirs before me. My sweet treats were left on the counter in a box and I had no idea the box was mine as no one said anything about this, with staff having to ask one another if it was mine when I asked. The staff aren't as friendly as I would have expected being locals as touted by other responses by the owners. The atmosphere didn't have a great feel to it, indoors echoed and felt empty. The array of sweet treats was impressive, and the few I brought were delicious. It would be lovely to have something explaining what each was, as the staff were busy and I felt that I was inconveniencing them asking for some information.
Today, Cars and Coffee was on again. Today MB was closed. No signage or even a scribbled note to say they weren't open or going to open. Options for coffee was McDonald's, 2 cafes or a bakery, given their close proximity to the event, was surprising and a little disappointing as I like to support local where I can. I have read the response from the owner, who chose to focus on the negative points rather than the positives. From the very few words spoken by the number of staff working, it's hard to be positive when they didn't give that impression. Today, I was looking at cars, at Cars and Coffee, not Cars and Google. Tonight when I sat down, I looked at the opening hours, clearly showing they were not open. Yeah, I could have looked, but the many older cohort of potential customers, go to a cafe to get their coffee and are disappointed to find it's closed. They don't jump on Google to see if it's open, they go elsewhere. I was told how amazing the bacon and egg rolla are, and after reading the response from management, it's sad that I won't get to try it due to my own commitments, and the wonderful ability to be closed on a weekend, something I'm sure other businesses would love to do (me included). It's great to see a manager standing up for his staff. Even though it's not what they want to hear, made obvious by the response, rather than encouraging staff to smile and be friendly. My order last month was shortly after 9am. There was empty tables inside and outside front and back, but a short line up for takeaway coffee. The coffee was indeed quite good. But the sweet treats were the standout. The other point I didn't mention, and should have is how chilled the management were. I know them by sight, and with a steady stream of orders coming in, management was smiling and supportive, no raised voices, tension, or otherwise. Something not often seen in hospitality. I will certainly give credit where it is due, and I'm sure the staff would certainly appreciate...
Read moreWhilst out in Camden visiting my sister, she took me on a drive to Picton to try out a new cafe, “Who is... Moses”.
Located on the Main Street, the cafe is housed within a quaint little cottage style property with indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is cool, with a huge mural occupying the outdoor wall, reminiscent of the pop art style and graffiti merged into one. Inside, the walls are plastered with what looks like a print of old papers. It’s a decent sized cafe and completely full on our day of visit.
Serviced by today’s youth, their customer service was pleasant and efficient. The cafe is order at the counter, but we think table service could easily work here.
The cafe serves all day breakfast and lunch as well as all press coffee and alcoholic beverages.
Omelettes, French Toast, Eggs Benedict, Bacon and Egg rolls as well as brekkie salads are on the menu for brunch. We order the corn fritters, and add poached eggs. Sitting atop some rocket and served with chilli sauce, we feel it could probably be presented with more for appearance sake and maybe even some toast. The taste of these are nice; light and fluffy.
For lunch you’ll find pastas, nachos, wraps, burgers, poke and soon to see nourish bowls added to the menu.
There’s also sides, sweet options like cookies and donuts and there’s a children’s menu too. The cafe was accomodating of my niece and had high chairs and served babycino’s.
The menu is quite good, certainly very varied and we enjoyed...

Service/knowledge 6/10 The wait staff were lovely and friendly.. however product/menu knowledge was not the best. Raised a question about a menu item, staff had to ask another staff, and then when raise what was on offer, had to refer back to another staff member to get an answer.. products should be known and staff well advised.
Food 6/10 I have read and heard such great reviews of the menu.. so thought I would try it out.. I had the arancini.. they tasted lovely.. however they were warm and not hot.. then it came to choosing a side.. being lunch time.. well that proved disappointing.. you have a choice of potato gems, fries, sour dough or sweet potato fries.. question.. where is the side salads option?? Yep none.. the lunch menu does not have any lunch salad options at all.. yes, I asked the staff and they said to me.. they are coming.. I was there for 1.5hrs and at no time did a Salad option arrive at the display to choose.
Overall I don't feel it's a place to have a proper meal ie lunch etc..The venue is more a short stop place for a coffee and...
