I attended the Jimmy Barnes show on the weekend and was very disappointed in the venue. We had seats on the balcony in the front row. Firstly the map that is displayed when you choose your tickets leads you to believe that there is a walkway going all the way down to the first row hence why I chose these tickets as I prefer to be on the end of a row. When we arrived there was no floor lighting and extremely dark so it was difficult to firstly find the row we were in and secondly to find our seats because as it turns out the walkway only went to the second row. Very disappointing as I believed we had seats on the end of the row, and to make it worse, due to the cramped nature of the rows trying to walk in front of people already seated was extremely difficult due to the lack of room. Some people behind me even commenting on how they were concerned for their safety as they felt they were going to lose their balance trying to squeeze through. The Disappointment didn't end there. Once seated I now realised we had an obstructed view. I had to spend the whole show watching through the middle of the two rails in front of me. This rail is not very high but as we were in the balcony looking down onto the stage it meant I was looking directly at the them. Nowhere was this mentioned when purchasing the tickets that it was an obstructed view. I feel that I was robbed of the opportunity to have purchased better seats due to the misinformation and misleading seating plane on the website when purchasing them. I am not local to Sydney and had to drive 2hrs to attend this show, so to find out that my seats were not what I was led to believe I was purchasing was both unfair and very disappointing. Luckily Jimmy Barnes puts on an amazing show but I will never attend the Sydney Coliseum for...

It was my first time to visit this venue. Mainly because I wanted to see Alice in Wonderland. And I normally give a very good review and being diplomatic and not insulting anybody, but I must say, I was utterly disappointed. Not because of the venue, the venue is very modern and staff are very friendly. However, inside the theatre was a constant haze in the air, which I assumed that there is something wrong with the air ventilation. Also, the seats are a bit small and very narrow to each other. But what I felt utterly disappointed was what I was getting for my money. I mean, I have seen many performance, at the Sydney Opera House, and I just came back recently from Brisbane where I was watching the Ring Circle at the Lyrics Theatre, where each performance lasted 5 h with 2 intervals, and the staging and decor and the whole set up was world-class. Plus I paid the same price that I paid for Alice in Wonderland, a performance that lasted just a tiny bit over an hour. There were a lot of families with 2 children, so how much did the pay for a good 1 h entertainment? Between $200 and $400? Or more? I am wondering how they feel... My recommendation: Go and see the show, the show is good, the acting is good, but it's extremely overpriced for...

Watched Swan Lake On Ice here last night. Absolutely great show. Loved that part. 1st time to see this theatre. I preferred this to Opera House. Very spacious. Very clean. Could do with more seating options outside on the lower floor for people waiting to go in. Closer to home and seats weren't so squashed in we weren’t on top of a stranger next to us. Biggest issue? Booster seats for adults!!! Are you for real? Nothing like having someone over 6.4 in front of you getting a booster seat so of course we had to get one which meant the person behind has to get one. Look if someone is under 5”4 yeah maybe but these should be for kids only. You might want to rethink that hand out. If you’re going to do this may as well hand them out to every person as they walk through the door. What a joke. Also whilst we ate beforehand didn’t really appreciate the issue that’s it’s a separate theatre but we had to sign into the club 1st. What if we just wanted the show? That’s annoying. However staff and security were very friendly. Will think twice before coming again if the booster seats are like...

The theatre is new, toilets clean, plenty of parking. But given its located far away out west for anyone living in the city areas, you would expect the seats to not be super small with no cup holders. It's so uncomfortable when you get a huge huge rude person sitting next to you invading all your personal space and squelching themselves into your seat. There is next to no internet in the area too,and when trying to play the metaverse of magic game. The game only finished loading each time as it was ending. Made for a poor experience. I also don't understand why there is a need for a 20min intermission for a show that's only 90mins long. Given how uncomfortable the seating was, would have been better if it was just over quicker. The metaverse of magic show itself was quite entertaining tho. This review is purely on the theatre layout. The platinum packages are also not worth the 35 dollars upgrade as all you get with it is a drink worth 10 dollars and a printed poster. Should of at least thrown in some popcorn, or actually had more spacious and comfortable seats allocated.

It’s an ok theatre, although, you need to sign in to the RSL club to access the theatre. Some other reviews say that the staff have been saying it must be a driver’s license. I don’t have a drivers license so I used my nsw government photo id card and that worked perfectly. All the food and drink is highly expensive. $6 for a small can of pringles. I tried to buy a sausage role for lunch, and the lady went and looked and said they don’t have any. I accepted and walked away, but I walked past where they keep the hot food and they had so many sausage rolls so they should have sold me one of those. It’s $5.50 for a small bottle of soft drinks which in Coles its like $3 for an even bigger bottle. Other than this, I was here for the Hillsong youth conference. Still got one more day of the conference (tomorrow). Today we were on the floor, and we have been told that tomorrow we will be in the balcony. I will update tomorrow with my experience on the balcony.

Just saw What the World Needs Now featuring David Campbell, Emma Pask, Elise McCann, Thndo, and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre—what an incredible show and venue! The theatre is modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, with spacious seating and excellent elevation for great views from every seat. It’s part of the Rooty Hill RSL, which offers plenty of parking and a variety of food and beverage options. We were amazed by how big and impressive the space is! This was our first time at the Sydney Coliseum Theatre, and it certainly won’t be our last. With so many exciting shows coming up and the venue being much closer than we expected, we’ll definitely be back!
