Great place with a friendly CEO, the food is amazing there but it is a little pricey. I will say though the pizza place IS NOT generous with its meat and that's a bit of a down fall there because the pizza is 90% dough and 10% meat and cheese. Sean and co is great restaurant but I'd say becareful when buying the fish because it has bones and it is annoying to be scared while eating. They used to have fillet fish but they removed it for whatever reason which I do not think was a smart idea. The gelato place is amazing but over priced compared to other clubs I have been to but they do have some awesome flavours and awesome smoothies. They also have vegan ice cream for those who dislike dairy. They have nice milkshakes with ice cream blend. The Cafe is great as well and I'm overall impressed with the place and the food. I'd suggest to utilise the current deal which is $25
You get a main dish, ice cream (1scoop) and a drink from anywhere within the club which is quite awesome. If you go to the pizza place you actually get 2 pizzas, ice cream and a drink which is pretty awesome but like mentioned above not much meat unless you ask for more and they charge you $2 or so.
Concierge is great and friendly from what I have seen, there are a lot of friendly people and not friendly people but you'll never have a perfect club but you'll find somewhere close to perfect.
Car park is plenty in there I believe it was over 2,000 and the colesium there is beautiful and stunning. It really is a breath taker.
There is an amazing gym there which the directors invest a lot of money there, there is a sauna and steam room, plenty of showers and amazing utilities. Only down side is it isn't 24/7.
The swimming pool is great but it is small. Only 2 pools one is a big one other is somewhat small for children and what not.
The gymnastics is massive and full of awesome staff and clubs for those who want to be a part of it.
Amf bowling and lazer skirmish (lazer tag) is awesome with plenty of awesome activities to do.
The novotel there is great as well the prime minister has stayed there before which says it is a great place to stay in.
Overall this place is its own city and it has everything and there is so much activities and stuff to do there. From bowling, swimming, gym and much more awesome...
Read moreOur Community NFP Organisation spent 18 months planning a ball for 200 people in the Ambassador Room. Whilst generally the event was successful, there were many aspects which did not meet our expectations and caused us enormous stress and frustration on the night, including poor communication between the Event Co-ordinator and the Audio Visual contractor. We were told initially that the cost of the AV would be around $1500 but we ended up paying close to $4,000 and being told that we should be grateful as this was a discount! Our official part of the programme was only 45 min of speeches and Polish folk dancing and then 4 hours of live band music where the AV operator had little to do. We were being told that 2 technicians were required and that the reduction to one technician was a favour being done and that for two techs we would have needed to pay over $5,000. Simply cannot understand the justification for this type of rip-off. There were many other matters that we raised including poor quality table service (examples given), the throwing away of our commemorative colour programmes and gifts to guests before the evening had finished and without consultation with any of our organising team, clearing of tables 40min before event had ended. We had a post event meeting with the Functions Director Neville Alexander to work through all our concerns and issues, and he has responded totally negating all of them and without taking any genuine responsibility for any of the expressed concerns or the shortcomings. So disappointed with such a response from such a large Club with over $100M in yearly revenue. Sad to say we won't be back, and for anyone considering holding an event in the Ambassador Ballroom of West HQ, be careful, get everything in writing, and make sure you get a detailed quote for the AV without any grey areas or you will be caught like we were. Don't expect tea or coffee on the menu, unless you specifically ask and pay for it. Our guests were told to go...
Read moreIf I could give this horrid place negative stars, I would. I attended a small family gathering for our Aboriginal reunion - we paid for two conference rooms, activities and food booked at what we thought would be a classy and welcoming establishment.
Issue 1: We checked in at the front entrance and were told by the desk clark that I needed to cover myself up - keep in mind I was wearing an ankle length dress with a straight neckline and knit cardigan after watching another lady walk in wearing thongs and borderline denim underwear.
Issue 2: Myself and family were stopped asked for ID SIX times in the few hours we were there - some being extremely demanding, standoffish and downright rude.
Issue 3: Being accused of sneaking in alcohol after BUYING drinks from their main downstairs bar.
Issue 4: Absolutely rude and hostile workers created an awful atmosphere - an older lady with the bun serving food and standing around would not stop giving everyone disgusted and annoyed looks. This lady acting inconvenienced if some much as my family walked past.
What was supposed to be a celebration of family, culture and reunification was turned sour by all the actions of the staff and more as listed above. Clearly this venue is ill prepared and the staff are unsuited to be hosting such events. I am extremely disappointed with my family's treatment and blatant discrimination - I would advise any other minorities and people in general to seek other establishments for celebrations as this one was extremely unwelcoming and...
