I'll have to say that we both enjoyed the walk all the way from Wentworths falls to Katoomba spread over 2 days immensely. The logistics taken by another reviewer happened to be pretty much what we decided to do as well.

Day 1: parked somewhere between Leura station and Gordon falls, walked 10min or so up to Leura station and caught the train to Wentworth falls station. The walk was easy, not much ups and downs, so did not in any way 'eat' into the actual GCTW. We were a bit early for the train, so grabbed a nice coffee and enjoyed the town while sipping on the caffeiene. It was a blissful start. It turned out the first half from WWF to Gordon falls was more challenging, though not hard, compared to the second half (day 2). Lots of ups an downs, and great scenary all the way. We did not detour as we had been therefore.

Day 2: parked near Leura station again, walked all the way down south to Olympian rocks (~15min or so), and discoverd the walk was much easier with many section simply paved paths. Scenary a little different to the first day which added variety. Otherwise it was pretty easy stroll. We did decide to take a detour to honeymoon bridge (3 sisters) and descended a bit down the giatn stairways before we had to come back up for time. We thought we would add something a bit more taxing on the body :) It was great. It was windy though. Gotta hold on to your hats. From echo point on, it was really just 'walking on flat surface' pretty much all the way. The end has some signage which felt a bit 'quiet' after walking the last 100 metres on a main road. We caught 686G bus back to Katoomba town centre and connected to the 690K back to Leura. Smooth ride.

Btw, Leura Gardens Festival is going to run over the coming weekend. We are going to miss it, but did decided to check out some of them from the outside. Some of them were along the walks from where we parked to Leura/Gordon-falls, so...

Yes! ‘we did the Grand Cliff walk this weekend…YaY!11.5kms first day and nearly 8kms the second day...was simply incredible...felt like we saw blue mountains with newly adjusted lenses...'was a bonus to see some amazing birds from the top of the trees...'sore calves but I recommend this to everyone... Only jarring part was the 'not so clear' directions and also not much description of the lookouts. We felt confused a couple of times … which way to go… lucky we had the app that we were using… so charge your phone fully to have that app handy…(all trails app)… Also no toilets or water bubblers on the way… be prepared for that as well… ‘a lot of exercise...and was also great for mindfulness...was very peaceful! The magnanimous nature vistas with endless beauty around us was humbling indeed...'coolness coming from the moist flora and cool moss covered cliff walls was very refreshing all along the way... 'was impressed by the work and effort put in to make it accessible...'we noticed a lot of tourists and unbelievably few runners as well (on not so easy terrain)...'didn't need anything...just a few sips of water and a handful of nuts...'got to catch up with people we...

Righteo!

You keen walkers, joggers, and strollers! This Grand Clif Walk from Wentworth Falls to Scenic World was a 4.5 hour delight for me!

However, this could be an 8 hour hike for you or even a 2-3 hour jog if that's for you too!

I recommend you download a map application, such as that would include the travels and lookouts, etc. Water, sunscreen and maybe some bug spray but I didn't find that entirely necessary. Your bathers if you want a dip in the waterfalls and certainly a battery pack if your phone is using the apps as you stroll along.

The apps that a fit for the hike will include the incline and decline heights which will assist you on where and how far you'd like to go as well as what to expect.

It's a lovely hike rated as high as "hard" but that's really only in some areas. There sometimes is a bit of tourist traffic so be patient and try and get around to keep up a good pace. There is a few lookouts that included seating, some amenities and a picnic area.

It's a fun solo or group day out and worth the bit of sweat. Have a good stretch and get into it, plus it's all free! You just have to work out how to get back...

Wow. Wow. Wow. If you enjoy hiking and are quite fit and able - then this is a MUST DO for locals and tourists. I started near Wentworth Falls station and finished my first day at Echo Point (Three Sisters). I did the final 3km the second morning as I was staying in Katoomba. Day 1 took me 4.5 hours and I seemed to do 18km (including a few side-trips to extra viewing spots). I’m a 54yo male.. so I’m sure others can do it faster if they pushed themselves. But part of the attraction is stopping to admire the AMAZING views all along the way. Yes there are some detours for track maintenance, but these are manageable and relatively minor. The signage overall was very good. Simply look for the specific signs with the black cockatoo and you can’t go wrong. I would suggest people plan to go when the weather is good - as this turned it into an amazing outing. Solo hiker. Proper kit and backpack with water bladder needed. There are LOTS of stairs. Down and Up. Up and Down. Be prepared. I think I did 1,000m ascent in total on Day1…! Go for it - and then tell everyone you know. They’ll thank you!

Day 1: Parked the car at Leura Mall, caught the train to Wentworth Falls station (where the walk starts) and walked back to Leura, making this leg a loop. We did this 11-12km loop in 7 hours, although we are slow walkers. Wentworth Falls is jaw dropping, Darwin’s Walk is great, and the new hiking infrastructure is done very well. Kudos to the trail designers and engineers. Day 2: parked the car at Gordon Falls picnic area in Leura, walked to Katoomba, and caught an Uber back. Many beautiful vistas on Day 2. The trail feels a little run down, in comparison to the Day 1 trail. Personally, I didn’t find anything beyond Echo Point compelling; the trail was chockers with tourists, and the views were better earlier. We covered the 8km in 3 hours. If I could do it again, I would do it in reverse, starting at Echo Point and finishing at Wentworth Falls station. This way, one can enjoy the magic of leaving the hordes behind, and watch the views get progressively more stunning as the hike goes on.
