I'm really torn about how to rate this one. First up, let me say I really like the idea of a bookshop/cafe, except when you want to look at the books, but there are people sitting right in front of the books trying to enjoy a meal without strangers trying to look just behind them. Totally awkward. Maybe that's just me. I ordered the breakfast bowl and my wife had the big breakfast. Both of these were massive. If you go, be sure to bring your A game. On the menu it says that the breakfast bowl is spicy. I wasn't disappointed. Lots of spice and tons of flavour. My wife enjoyed her breakfast for the most part. The only real down side to the meals was the eggs, which were poached and the yolks were solid. The coffee was pretty poor. It was very weak, didn't really have a lot of flavour. When the mugs were brought to us, they were presented on saucers which weren't clean. They both had dried coffee stains, which made us question if the mugs are clean too. Both the mugs had a cakey, black substance on the bottom, which we discovered was ground coffee. How hard is it to wipe this off the bottom of the mugs? Before we left, we had a quick look at the books (trying not to disturb anyone eating!), it was then that we saw one of the employees exiting the toilet after she had used it, without washing her hands. The wash basin, on this case, is in a little alcove off the upstairs hallway, and not in with the toilet. She then proceeded to touch the wall near the alcove and went down the stairs, holding the rail. How hard is it to stop and wash your hands? If she were my employee, she would have been out the door. This is why I'm torn. The food was good, but of it comes with a side of fecal matter, I don't want it. After witnessing this, I wouldn't go back.

Loved this cafe for the food and the service. The design of the place is very nice and creates a very nice atmosphere. The portions were big, extras seemed expensive but they turned out to be big too, so worth it. The only thing I didn't like was that the barista was looking at me often. I was there at a very busy time, and I felt like he's waiting for me to leave and free the table. But I'm still gonna give 5 stars because the the other staff were great! Update: changed to 3 stars. We visited again, and while the food was great, the man behind the counter was rude when we came in. He was friendly and nice to the locals but not us. When leaving, we said thank you he didn't even respond.

I provided a perfect rating based in the items I had: - mocha (done well); and - scones (enjoyable mid morning). Service was good. We came here with our good friends (who have an Airbnb nearby - which I've reviewed, called "Almora Loft"). Atmosphere was chill and laid back (it is after all in the Blue Mountains). I could definitely see myself bringing other friends here (if they were keen for a road trip up). Also, good spots nearby to visit too quite easily (Wentworth Falls Lake is around the corner, an art gallery is nearby, waterfall nearby and of course, Leura, Katoomba and Medlow Bath are a short drive away too).

My recent visit to Blue Mist Cafe was truly a memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the most exceptionally friendly staff, which instantly set the tone for an enjoyable meal.

The food at Blue Mist Cafe was nothing short of delicious. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and it was evident that they put great care and attention into their dishes. The menu offered a variety of options to suit different tastes, and we left with our palates thoroughly satisfied.

What made our visit even more special was the vibrant atmosphere. The cafe was buzzing with locals, engaged in lively conversations about life and their day ahead. The host of the cafe was personally serving breakfast that morning, and his ability to connect with everyone created a sense of community that made us feel like we were in the middle of a heartwarming...

When we walked in they kept offering us 2 tables only we were a group of 13,the tables sat 4. No table had a reserved sign on them but apparently they were I than asked for a high chair and was told they had none but 10 mins later a family walked in with a child and they gave them a high chair, I asked again for one and was told that they only had one I mentioned that we were there first and had asked for one and were told they had none... no explanation could be given the waitress was quiet. Most of the food was good but the pancakes were totally disgusting they looked like crepes but were chewable and got hard the kids couldn't eat them.Overall not a good experience when the manager of the place seemed like a grouch not...
