Thought I would ride my bike to Marge's Lookout the other day. Came across three ladies discussing their picnic table experience a few moments ago. Seems the table toppled over when sat on. One of the ladies struck her right shoulder and was rubbing the back of her head. Close inspection show up the problem . The base was set in dirt and not on a concrete base. So the base pulled up easily with any loading. Very poor installation. Typical of BMCC public works? We would hope not. Council's reaction was to remove the table and seat. Safer all around I guess.

Knapsack Reserve is a favourite local mountain bike area for me with lots of variety of trails. Some fire trails as well as many kilometres of single track. The single tracks are not purpose built mountain biking trails but still fun nonetheless. Being sandstone based and on a ridge line they cope fairly well with a bit of rain.

We did this walk on a rainy day and although we couldn’t see much from Marges and Elisabeth lookout we loved this walk. Easy up to these lookouts but you can get your heart rate up walking down many stairs from the Elisabeth lookout down towards Knapsack viaduct and back. It took us around 2.5 hrs to do whole circle.

I recently had the opportunity to ride the mountain bike trails at Knapsack Reserve and it was an amazing experience. The trails are well-maintained and offer a great mix of technical sections and flowing singletrack. There are options for riders of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced riders looking for a challenge.

The scenery is also fantastic, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. It's a great way to get out into nature and experience the beauty of the Blue Mountains.

Overall, I highly recommend the mountain bike trails at Knapsack Reserve to anyone looking for a fun and challenging ride in a beautiful setting. It's definitely...

After a easy walk from knapsack soccer fields you are rewarded with a beautiful view towards the city. We took the million sandstone steps down to the bridge, not for the faint hearted. Once we reached the bridge we decided not to walk back up the million steps but to walk up towards Glenbrook. Following google maps we found ourselves in a back street to which we promptly rang a uber. Lesson: plan our walk before hand, don't walk down if you are not prepared to walk back, have a plan B. We had...
