Glenbrook village bakehouse holds a very dear place in my heart. Their pork roll was the first ever pork roll I ever tried.
The bread they use, although not as crispy as other places, still has a level of crisp and is very fresh and delicious (I’m a sucker for the roll being soft though). They add a generous amount of carrot, spring onion and coriander (which I pick off because I don’t like coriander). I love it when they add a load of spring onion (it’s my bias I love spring onion). All of the ingredients taste fresh and are absolutely delicious.
They are very generous with the pork pates, which taste amazing, and aren’t hard to bite through which is an issue I’ve had at other establishments. There is a generous amount of soy(?) sauce added alongside their house made mayo, which is genuinely addicting.
Definitely recommend checking Glenbrook Village Bakehouse out if you’re driving past, they are very generous with the portion as well as cheap! They also do chicken rolls and have a variety of pies and sweet...
Read moreWent in and ordered a steak pie. The person taking the order was pushy and really pedantic about me holding the drink I got from the fridge while waiting in line, so she took it off me. Then later didn't even include it in the payment or give it back after I payed, so I had to ask for it back and pay again, ridiculous. The meat in the pie didn't taste or have the texture of meat, it was some sort of blended vermin. The pastry was nice texture but the outside tasted like an unclean inside of an oven. Would not recommend the beef pie, but undoubtedly would have some nice cookies and other baked food. Nonetheless, I would recommend the staff to really try to respect customers and trust them to pay for what is in there hands. Also they need to disable the welcome ringer as it was extremely loud, I could hear it across the road in the park. It is really not necessary as the front of the shop is completely open so the customer is...

So we cordially took it back, not asking for our money back or anything in reimbursement, but rather to save anyone from buying the off batch and suffering from food poisoning. When we handed it to the middle aged Asian man behind the counter explaining the above, he quickly took it and ignored what we were saying. He started talking in another language pushing us a new one, as I continued to tell him to taste it himself to find out. He...
