I came to visit this place for dinner on Thursdays and I believe they have a pizza special on THURSDAYS where all pizzas cost a standard $15. This was a nice surprise so we got a Margherita and the Little Mexican. We also had the Fries with Truffle Aioli which were AMAZING. The customer service varied. Attitude of staff ranged from cheerful to indifferent. Our glasses of water were left unattended despite the number of staff standing around chatting to each other. I will leave it there and hope that this can be improved. Booking is recommended if you plan on coming for dinner (you can only book a table if you’re eating here during dinner hours anyways) as the place gets full very fast. They seem to divide the seating area into family friendly and normal seating areas. The night we went, the normal seating area was full to the brim, making it a mammoth task to talk to my friend, while the family area had only one family. I had hoped I would be able to sit in a quieter spot to chat with my friend ( I did ask for a quieter spot when I called to book earlier in the day), not sure why they couldn’t have put us in the family friendly area... Overall, I am happy to come back to try the different items on the menu but the customer service needs to improve, considering the prices charged for everything on the menu.

Two tables over a tan kelpie watches his owner’s breakfast intently. When he anticipates a treat coming his way, he lifts his right paw to shake hands, then flicks his head back to expertly catch the morsel in his mouth. This is repeated five times as I down my well-made Allpress cappuccino ($4.90) at 2773. The strong flat white ($5.90) that accompanied it was too bitter, but nothing sugar couldn’t fix. This large Glenbrook cafe, named for the postcode, welcomes all comers, from dogs to kids to middle-aged men in lycra with parking space for bikes down one courtyard wall. Staff smiled and listened patiently as the woman at the next table redesigned her breakfast dish and smoothie to accomodate her food preferences. I just added a chunky cheese and jalapeño sausage ($5.50)—made by East Blaxland Butchery—to mine. The charred snag was great against chilli scrambled eggs ($24) with bursts of sweet corn tempered with ricotta, lime and a drizzle of truffle oil on sourdough (or gluten-free bread). Black sesame prawn toast ($28) topped with fried eggs and Asian salad was a stellar idea, but too sweet in the execution. I’d also reconsider the placement of the (too) sweet’n’sour sauce to retain more crispness in the sesame seed-speckled prawn toast. It did have the makings of a good dish.

The head-waiter (is he the owner/mngr?), middle-aged fellow, -an arrogant 'egofreak' ... I arrived after 2 hrs travel, & walk from station with heavy backpack, & looked through the 2 big open spaces, patiently, for my mother. He then appeared right beside me & initially asked 'are you alright', I said, pleasantly, I am looking for my Mum, she is here somewhere'. He said she's probably in restaurant ' pointing through another door, as he looked quizzical and very serious. I then said, with big smile, 'oh, there's another room, it looks like there'd be the kitchen in there'. He stiffly, as if I was stupid, slowly said 'yes -there's another room', and pointed. As I went forward, looking a bit surprised at my surroundings too, he followed about a foot behind my feet -through two different doorways. I do get a little claustrophobic sometimes -so as I stopped just after the entrance to the further room, and he was still a foot from me looking extremely serious and standing there too, I stopped for about five seconds before I walked over to my Mum, as he still looked very cynical and with a furrowed brown at me. 40 something mins later, when it looked like our (now changed to take-away) meals were ready, I walked over and very friendly asked 'Excuse me Head-chef, are these two for Mary ?'. suddenly the 2 male waiters were at my shoulder, the middle-aged fellow pushed through my shoulder with his shoulder, looking seriously concerned, read the tags on the food, then, in fast motion, pressed them against my chest, looking grumpy, without saying anything . I really do hope that he is not the owner or manager ?......... That experience spoilt a bit of energy leading into my couple of more hours I had with my mother...

I am not coming back to this cafe anymore. Recently I have recommended to 3 families who newly moved to this penrith area. All 3 families came back to me and they were not happy with this cafe. Most recently One family visited there this week has said that they went to this cafe on weekday and loved interior and kids play area but when they got food, they were so disappointed. They think it is over priced for what they got on their plate but understood as it is too far from the city area. However, my friend got ceaser chicken schnitzel and it was over cooked outside as it was so hard to chew and while she was eating she found a bit of uncooked part of chicken. She said she talked to manager and he offered another food but she was disgusted by thinking she ate uncooked food so she asked him to take it off from the bill. And he left from the table. When she went to pay, he didn't even mention about the food and didn't even take it off from the bill and gave her coffee voucher to come back. She didn't want to argue in front of her son so she just said thank you and left. She said they will never go back there and will not recommend to anyone this cafe. They have worked in hospitality for more than 20 years and they said their way of complain is not just going back. Omg, I was so embarrassed that I recommended to them and they had...
