There is a huge area, just a few metres away from where you were, in the equestrian centre that is dog friendly (some areas are off leash at certain times, please READ the signs). The trail section around the farm is not dog friendly because there is cattle in the fields. Council ruling is for the well-being of the cows because some people are inconsiderate and let their dogs roam free where ever they like and this disturbs the cows.
