Chola Indian Restaurant camden — Restaurant in Sydney

They're not going to get our business anymore. We were waiting for an hour for food eventhough there was only 4 of us and another small table of 2. We got 2 Simosas after 20 mins and waited from before 7pm to just on 8pm for the 4 mains. I watched 6 takaway orders get done, then when the kind waitress served us the mains, we all looked at each other as to how all we got was 4 tiny bowls of curry worth $20 each and some rice in a bowl. 15 mins later, the bread came - oily and burnt then my bread 1.5hrs after we first sat down. The soft drinks cost $5 - $6 each. Whilst sitting there waiting for the food, the previous people came back complaining of being over charged and I witnessed a customer who had waited for over an hour get yelled at by the chef, refusing his requests for a refund and giving him a hastily prepared order missing key items. His arguement had gone on for over 20 mins and we could hear more arguements and yelling coming from the kitchen. Lucky the restaurant was empty. This was not a good look for the business. We were looking forward to a nice meal out and this ruined our experience. When I went to pay, I nearly fell over to what the final bill was $176 as compared to what we got...4 curries, 1 entree, 1 rice and 4 drinks, 1 bread basket and 1 cheesy garlic naan. We've been there 3 times and this will be our last. Food - below average Service - waitress was good and apologetic but overwhelmed by takeaway orders. Decor and atmosphere - below average. Sorry, I rarely post negative comments but this was a terrible and expensive experience. I just couldn't believe what I had seen and how this business can continue working in this way. Lucky the restaurant was empty as there was only the chef & the waitress running around when we were there. I checked the menu when we left and think that we were overcharged, but wasn't going to drive back 40 mins to get into an arguement with the owner. I saw enough of the other customer that was fighting a losing battle when I was there. Sorry, but you won't be getting our money anymore. Good luck if you keep operating...

If i could give NO stars I would! Will NEVER be ordering from Chola Indian in Camden ever again! I ordered through the Eat Now app and paid for it on there in full. After 50 minutes I rang asking the whereabouts of our order only for the person on the phone to say in an extremely rude tone "You need to give the driver $5 for delivery". I told him I already paid for the order in full online and that it wasn't my problem the delivery was forgotten to be included. Another 40 minutes past and I rang back again and they assured me it was 10 away.

Finally after nearly 2 hours the order arrived. The delivery girl said I needed to pay the $5 cash and I said I don't think so, it's taken 2 hours to get our food! And shut my door. She sent the man that was also in the car to our door WHO TRIED TO OPEN MY FRONT DOOR!!! Lucky it was locked! Who tries to open someone's front door?! And was also banging on it with force. If there was zero star, I would have given them without hesitation. Will not recommend anyone to eat there.

Food was not fresh, defrosted and microwaved by only adding some spices for tandoori chicken which was not even marinated as it should have been, Deli chicken tasted off and had a fishy taste.

They offered papadum with chutney before food which like many Indian restaurants comes free but they sneaked and added it into the bill. When questioned why they had not informed as we would not have gotten it since they overcharged $7 for it (4 papadum and 5cmx1cm mint paste). The guy said he has always charged to customer. I told him that’s not fair as he should inform 1st if these things are charged and no just offer. No refunds or apology and disgusting food. No wonder the restaurant was empty and no sanitising station.
