Found this place referred to by a friend. Was sceptical at first, but thought I would try it for myself anyway. The first thing that turns me off places like this is waiting in line, especially when you just want to purchase something and go, but I understand, it's the new hip thing to do and look like 'We are the World' candidates and wait for our hessian bag of wheat to be given to us (that's just a metaphor, for those who take things literally). I roughed it and waited anyway. OMG, I bought a croissant and a coffee and took a bite of the croissant and this was amazing. No after taste and the pasty was cooked properly with no semi-raw parts inside which you have to throw out. The coffee was lovely and hot, and good tasting so I can't flaw my first visit.

I decided to bring my partner today and show him this great place I visited. We ordered the Croque-Monsieur and coffees. Once again, the coffee's were great. We had a bite of our sandwich and you are not going to believe what we found inside......(the picture says it all).

I understand businesses need to profit and this place does, trust me, they sell out by the time they close if not earlier. But if you are going to charge $14 for a toasted sandwich, make sure it lives up to the price.

First of all, the Bechamel, ho hum. There was barely any mustard spread on the bread so there was no slight zing in the flavour and what turned me off the most, was the amount of ham that was placed in the sandwich. It was literally exactly as the photo shows and someone has consciously made this knowing that the ham has not even reached the end of bread.

You may think, big deal, but it is.

This is exactly the type of thing that happens with these places.

They become complacent and overly-confident and people feel ripped off and stop going.

A lot of these food items you could make at home, but sometimes you just want to go and and enjoy the outdoors and let someone else do the work for you.

So, to the owners, it saddens me that this has occurred, because I don't know whether to visit anymore as I love your food, but not when I have to search for the ingredients. I might as well make this at home.

Consistency is the key to success. Complacency can lead...

In the premises that was once Burger Frank, is now B85 Artisan Bakery. A couple of tables and high stools outside for you to enjoy your food and coffee.

B85 Bakery, opened by self taught chef and baker Kim Faulko Lim, bringing the Pastry dream alive in Camden. The store specialises in baking pastries such as plain croissants, almond croissants, chocolate croissants and other flavours such as strawberry and cream. On my day of visit (the first day opening after the new year), there was lots of variety; a baked custard flan, bombolini, cinnamon scroll, chocolate and raisin croissants and the offerings change slightly day to day. The pastries are incredible, particularly the strawberry tart, with its layers of pastry, vanilla custard, strawberry gel and slices of strawberry. We can’t wait to try more.

There’s plenty of varieties of sourdough; white, country loaf (with spelt), baguettes and more. I look forward to them hopefully making great little takeaway sandwiches if that’s on the cards.

The Little Marionette is a favourite coffee blend of mine, and the barista made an excellent latte. My new go to for coffee when in the area.

Staff were efficient and hospitable and this bakery is a welcome...

THE BEST CROISSANTS, DANISH, other pastries I have experienced in Australia.

Kim the owner has perfected his technique in creating crisp and flaky pastries which is the heart of any croissants and danish. The variations are then the flavour added to it which are strawberries pistachio raspberry chocolato almonds you name it.

Having travelled many places in Australia, initially the gold standard was the LUNE Bakery in Melbourne which is ranked amongst the top 10in the world, the second was the boulangeries in Tasmania. However, B85 - Kim and his team surpasses LUNE and Tasmanian boulangeries by miles.

Better pastries in texture - light flaky and crispy Better fillings which are generous amount of cream and fruits. Absolute indulgence. Better attention to detail in terms of presentation Good atmosphere in the team (which is as good as LUNE, but B85 is more interactive) Coffee is good.

Haven’t tried the breads, I am sure they’re phenomenal.

Favorites: Strawberry pistachio Danish, Raspberry Bow ties, and a different pistachio pastry.

this is genuinely the result of having deep passion to create the beat version...
