Simply awful…. Avoid Went for brunch, ordered Tea and scones with jam and cream, my husband ordered a ham and cheese croissant. Took forever to arrive and when it did, was not worth the wait. My scone was the sorriest excuse for a baked good EVER! Not to mention the squirty cream from the can that was offered along with it. Why? Just why? Scones should be served with proper cream, not canned crap that disappears before your eyes before you can even put it on your scone. The scone was so dry it was like eating crumbled flour, truly awful and inedible. I politely let the waitress know that the scone was dry and she said she’d let the ā€œchefā€ know, which she did as I could hear her. And that’s where it ended. I was expecting someone to come to the table and perhaps offer a refund or an offer of another type of cake. Nope, nada…. We were there another 20 minutes as my husband ate his over heated croissant and the waitress passed by our table many times but no mention of anything by the so called chef, and I use the term loosely!I I was rather annoyed by their lack of customer care. They were just waiting for us to leave. On principle I carried the leftover scone, which was mainly intact except for the bit I tasted, and took it to the front counter, gave it to the waitress and said that I was quite disappointed with it. She said she would get the ā€œchefā€ (heater upperer) who poked her head around the corner and mumbled something about it being gluten free, and that’s why it was so dry and inedible. She then asked if I would like a piece of banana bread. I accepted the offer as we’d paid for scones that were not consumed. I told her I would like to take it home with me as we had an appointment in Camden. I stood waiting for five minutes wondering if she was baking a fresh loaf, she saw me looking and said it won’t be much longer, and I’m thinking, what won’t be much longer? How long does it take to pick up a piece of banana bread, wrapped in glad wrap. I was in front of the display case and could literally see them right in front of me. She said she was toasting it!! I said I don’t want it toasted or heated as I was taking it home to have later on. She then grabbed it off the hot plate and put it in a take away container and handed it to me. I said I don’t want the heated one as I’m not eating it now and it would go dry. I asked her for a piece that was in the display that was pre wrapped. She just stood there staring at me and said, ā€œbut I’ve just heated it upā€ to which I replied, I didn’t ask you to heat it up, nor did you ask me if I wanted it heated up infact I made a point of saying that I’ll take it to go and eat it tonight with a cuppa. She begrudgingly gave me a piece from the cabinet. She was so rude…. It didn’t end there as when I got home, I opened the bag she put it in and she had given me the end piece which was approximately 1cm thick and as dry as the horrible scone. There were other pieces of banana bread in the cabinet that looked plump and three times the thickness of the dry piece of cardboard that she put in the bag for me. It was Once again inedible and I put it in the bin. I wouldn’t even feed it to the birds, they deserve better!!!! I don’t normally write scathing reviews in fact , this is my first review ever but the way this was handled was disgraceful. We left very disappointed and will NOT be returning or recommending this place to anyone… Sorry about the rant, but people need to know what to expect if they dine here or in my case,...

Went here for mother's day lunch. Ordered food at 1115am, coffee came out 25 mins later. Food arrived at our table 1h 15mins after we ordered. No updates, no sorry we're busy...nothing. When the food came out it was a 6 out of 10 at best. Then the guy who brought the food out didn't bring cutlery, I went inside and asked where's the cutlery and he just pointed at a cup with cutlery in it. Again, no sorry....nothing.

We had an Eggs Benedict with Bacon and my mother had Fish and chips. The Eggs Benedict came out on an over toasted English muffin......would have been better on a piece of Sourdough or something like that.

The Fish and chips......I swear the fish was one of those crumbed fillets like you buy from the supermarket.....no lie.

Overall a poor experience, they were busy but they weren't as busy as they made out.....more poorly organized.

I am being generous with giving them 2 stars.

In a couple words, Dissatisfied and...

We won’t be back. Bit like a Gordon Ramsay episode where he comes in and needs to see how bad it runs before he gives it an overhaul. We had booked a table (weeks ago) for Mothers Day lunch and said we had a pram but our table was half in the rain and had zero space around it for anything let alone a pram. The attached note was given to us on arrival… which was hilarious as it took an hour and 10 mins for the food to come out… You could hear the chaos in the kitchen and we were seated upstairs. My breakfast bruschetta was soggy and came with an egg when I hadn’t ordered one. We got talking to the lovely people on the table next to us who had been waiting longer than us for their food - that was probably the most positive part of the experience. They really need an overhaul as it appears no one knows how to successfully run a cafe and I suspect that will impact...

The outside tables look beautiful, but that's it. We couldn't even get a bottle of tap water, and we found several problems in only 1 hour we had stayed there. 1. When I asked them to bring my coffee with my food, they just said NO and I will get my coffee first. And I asked back if they couldn't do that for sure, then they said okay... 2. Coffee was super burning hot, which is definitely not at the correct temperature for dine-in. I burned my mouth so badly and it still hurts... 3. I ordered the same coffee with my friend, but they looked totally different in different mugs. 4. The server didn't even know what he had brought. When we asked him the name of the dish we had got, he just answered like "Smashed avo on toast...?" which we didn't even order. That was actually Bruschetta.

Two stars, one for the atmosphere, and one for the gluten free almond and orange cake. We were told there would be menus upstairs at the tables, but there wasn’t and we had to go downstairs again to get the menus. Not enough cutlery at the table. The food took 40 minutes to be served, and the drinks took half an hour. The waitress kept forgetting what we’d ordered when I asked her how much longer it would be. The grilled chicken was dry and flavorless and was served with half a lemon (?). The mashed potato was cold. The Caesar salad came with toast rather than croutons. Shame as this cafe is in a lovely spot with a great variety of baked goods in the window.
