Nice and new playground, the community centre looks good but wasnt able go in. Oval has a turf pitch and is a good size. Love the fact that the playground is large and well fenced. Fairly inclusive as much of the equipement is can be used by all abilities. However, the one big slide, that almost every kid (and big kids at heart) want to have a go in is only accessabible by climbing a rope jungle gym or a rope clinder ladder. Not easy for smaller children, not an issue for my eldist but my youngest was not impressed they could not get up there with their elder sibling. If you want a park that has a reasonable size slider that younger and older kids can enjoy maybe try Waitara Park. The Slide there has stairs. Hopefully one day they will come up with a way that anyone no matter their ability can...
Read moreExtremely busy little park in Hornsby. Has the usual equipment and a large climbing structure for slightly older school aged kids. The enclosed slide from that structure does slide quite fast and if you are sitting at the top you can't see if there's any kids at the bottom (kids do regularly climb up the steep slide so be careful).
There is shade cloth over the preschool play area but none over the other school aged playground. There is also a table tennis table but you'll need to bring your own paddles and balls.
There is a single toilet and BBQs and it does have stairs that lead to the oval below. There's not many parking spaces for the amount of people that frequent the park but there is also street parking available.
Go early as it gets way too crowded at lunch time...

Shade cover is limited as in many new parks (waiting on newly planted trees to provide most of the shade) but it's a really well thought out space, with the only downside bring too few swing sets (4 in total and only one for 'babies', plus a shared one that is a bit odd to use). Also at the time of visiting there was no nearby shops or cafe, which is a slight pity, but that's nitpicking. But really you can't go wrong in a cool or overcast day. It's a really lovely space, great for all ages to about 12, ample Street parking and a quantum leap over the previous playground here. Well worth a visit is you are...
