Reviewing a fast food place seems a bit mean, after all it's not meant to be fine dining. But here's my exciting novel-length review! I ordered a 3 piece box here a few weeks back and received a pretty disappointing choice of chicken pieces. That's OK I thought, it's a lottery, better luck next time. I also got gravy instead of potato and gravy. No worries, I thought, mistakes happen.
So I returned today and ordered the same thing. I decided to eat in for the first time. The place was reasonably clean but I wasn't expecting much. It's not meant to be fine dining after all. The teen staff were pretty uninterested to be there. That's OK, I almost prefer that to pretending they love the job, makes it more real you know? I placed my order and was informed they didn't have Pepsi Max. In fact, looking in their fridge, they had precisely two drink choices, regular Pepsi or Mountain Dew. It was a big fridge, but had two choices. Maybe the drinks truck broke down?
Then as I sat down I realised once again I got gravy instead of potato and gravy. I returned to the counter and was informed "the machine is broken". A machine does it! Didn't know that. The real issue I had there was not that the machine was broken, it's the obviously the gravy had been deliberately substituted both times and it was hoped the customer either wouldn't notice or couldn't be bothered complaining. The chicken pieces were a pretty poor selection again, and the chips were kind of - hard? Then at the end I realised I wasn't even given a napkin or a spoon or anything, let alone a refresher towel. Maybe I was expected to get this myself? They didn't ask if I was eating in so I'm not sure. As I ate I could hear several other customers being told certain items weren't available. Maybe some other trucks broke down? Maybe one ran into the Pepsi truck which then ran the potato machine repairer off the road. Have to be careful on the Pacific Highway.
So in summary my 3 piece box contained: Chicken - choice of pieces below average. Tasted fine though. Chips - Strangely hard on the inside Potato and gravy - Not available Drink - Not available Bun - the little bun was fine. Thank you, little bun. Dependable little bun. I know it's just KFC but embarrassingly I've been to a fair few KFCs over the years and haven't had these problems before, now I've had them twice in a row. It's not fine dining, but even selling junk food you should try to match the standard of the other branches of your junk food.
I would give this 1 star but you know what? This experience has lead me to stop eating KFC altogether and pursue a healthier lunch time option. A blessing in disguise and a decision that I should have made years ago, so that's where the second star comes from. Farewell, Asquith KFC. I'll remember this review if I'm ever tempted to darken your doorway again. Don't do it,...
Read moreTerrible customer service. Arrived 25 minutes before close, ordered and waited 27 minutes for an ultimate box then at 10:03 one minute after receiving our food a gentleman rudly told us to leave. We asked kindly if we could finish our food that was less than a quarter eaten. He blatantly refused. Then brought us a doggy bag for our food and threw it on our table. It was freezyng cold outside with no bench in site. I politely explain we had no where to eat and politely asked if we could allow us to stay for 120 seconds so we could scoff down our food. He refused with great agitation standing over us as we sat placidly in disbelief. Our KFC experience was long past its potential for enjoyment and we just wanted to get our food into us ASAP and get away from his repugnant attitude. As he began barking orders we realised this man was not reachable through kindness, manners or logic. After having wasted half an hour trying to get a quick bite of KFC we were kicked out the door to finish out food in the carpark. People have bad days but this was unacceptable and completely necessary. I don't even feel comfortable going back there. We left at 10:10 we could have been out in 5 minutes. I asked the man if he was leaving right away to which he responded "I have heaps to do out the back, now I'm going to be home late". I thought to myself 'well you better get back to work then" the amount of time he spent barking at us was simply ridiculous, we could have been out in 2 minutes. Instead we stayed till whole 10 minutes past 10, listening to him bark at us while we just tried to get our food into us a quickly as...
Read moreWe drove through the drive through at around 7pm and ordered a dinner box for the family. I was informed that the chicken was being cooked and would be a 3-5 minute wait. I thought that was reasonable for fresh cooked chicken so we paid and then pulled into the waiting bay. We then sat in the waiting bay as another car pulled up beside us to wait. We then waited for about 35-40 minutes when the employee walked out with the car next ours meal. So we had been waiting longer and they got theirs first! I then asked the girl how much longer did we have to wait and why did they get theirs first to which she said they didnt have enough chicken for ours so they served other first and we had to wait another 10-15 minutes. I then asked for my money back instead. She then took another 10 minutes to come back with my money.
I couldnt believe that no body had communicated with us for the entire time, that cooking chicken for us took so long and that we were made to wait while they served other people. I think waiting over an hour in total to get our meals would have been rediculous. Also being told lies about waiting time was disgusting business. I sincerely hope you repremand this store because we will not be going to KFC for our regular fast food tuesdays with the family.
We then went to MCdonalds and not only did we not have to wait but they served us with a smile, asked if we needed anything else like extra napkins. I really hope you raise your standard before you lose...
