The business is independent of the zoo, and the entry is outside of it, so whilst the course itself hovers high over the zoo and the views are spectacular, you don't actually have to pay Zoo entry to enjoy the Wild Ropes experience. There are several courses of varying difficulty, and the time it takes to complete each course depends greatly on your agility and fitness. We did both high and low Ropes courses during school holidays, and with a short break between courses, we were on-site for 2 hours. Spectators are most welcome, but there are only a few spots with which to view participants as they navigate the course, and there are only 2 bench seats. Bathrooms are about 100m away at the zoo's entrance. Hopefully, at a future date, more "spectator friendly" areas and course vantage points will be added. It was definitely a worthwhile experience. NB. The carpark offers 90 minutes of free parking, which is probably sufficient time to get through the course; after which parking is $22 for the day.

I visited with my 14 year old daughter on a Saturday. We each completed two courses. A starter course and a higher one each. For the second one my daughter completed the hardest one, I did the second hardest one. I have a fear of heights that I’m working on and the staff were really helpful about this. A lovely staff member gave me some tips and encouragement during the course when I may have looked unsure. She helped a lot and I felt really good about completing one of the high courses! Also absolutely beautiful views out over Sydney harbour while doing the course. That was another excellent distraction from worrying about the height. The safety equipment/ harnesses etc all looked very well maintained and secure, too. Would recommend, beautiful location, good fun, and helpful staff.

What a wonderful thrilling experience with a view! The staff are so professional and focused on safety. They might have prepared thousands of people but they took their time and completed the preparation with clear instructions. They spoke to everyone at their level, from the youngest to the oldest. I watched Bailey and he was so focused on the person he was attending to. He is an asset to the operation. All the staff are amazing! Highly recommended to visit before or after the Zoo or for a special event!

I contacted Taronga for months leading up to April, the punlicly annouced opening month. My daughter visited 18mths ago for a holiday camp and saw the course. For the entire time so was adamant she wanted her party there. I followed them up no more than a week before they publicly announced they are open to be told "they aren't open and don't know when they will be". We only have a party every 2 years. This was meant to be special for her. Their management team, social media team, events team have dropped the ball completely. Clearly the zoo has more than enough funding, even after covid, that they no longer need our support or the 20+ children party. They can't even dignify us with a response and apology. As active supporters of the Taronga wider conversation group, this has made us redirect our focus. Hugely...
