The View is a real standout dining experience. The food was excellent from start to finish—fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavour. The smashed cucumber was especially delicious, the meals themselves were outstanding, and the fries with salt and vinegar were a perfect touch. Service was excellent—attentive, friendly, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. Even the coffee was impressive, one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. And of course, the setting is unbeatable. Looking out across Sydney Harbour and the city skyline while dining makes for a truly special experience. The View combines quality food, great service, and one of the best outlooks in Sydney. Highly recommended.

After watching the animals get fed, we decided to get a bite from The View, sitting in the self-service outdoor area. What drew my attention here was the huge line which means the food would be fresh from the high turnover rate. We ordered one fish and chips and one seafood basket. While the food is not outstanding, the fish was well cooked and the chips were crunchy so it was a rock solid performance. This has definitely exceeded my expectations of food at the zoo. There is also the option to sit inside and get table service but the price is double of what you pay outside which would be quite expensive for you are getting.

Ok so there are some conflicting reviews so I thought I would make my reviewer detailed. The view is lovely but you will need to be close to the windows to get best effect. Our fish and chips ($26) were lovely, fresh and hot. Our children had fries which the chef tailored to make them smaller cut for them. All up including food for four (two children) and five glasses of wine was $106. Quite a reasonable experience. The staff were all helpful and attentive and the service was very prompt. There is a cheap fish and chip cafe next door for those who want something cheaper but this is not excessive!

If I could give a minus 5 star review I would.. Please guys, please save your $$$ go to the fish shop next door, go anywhere, just not here. The menu was a lot better a few years ago, let me tell you. Now it literally consists of 5 main options (salmon, fish and chips, gnocchi, steak sandwich and burger) that's it. Kids options are rubbish especially in this day and age...frozen chicken tenders with with chips, battered fish and chips and a vegetarian pasta dish. Seriously? That's shameful. The standards have dropped immensely since our last visit. There's a Very poor variety of sides too. I'll comment on what we ordered. I might also add I booked online and the table wasn't even set up. (There was 11 of us) Steak sandwich- local take away does better trust me Burger - dried out patties not nice at all Gnocchi- good Chips - like you can't screw chips up can you ? Greek salad - had a special guest appearance by a dead fly. Overall the dead fly was a big turn off and tbh the whole place is fly infested- so one can only assume how bad the kitchen where they prep the food is!!! Definitely calling the health department tomorrow as a lot of people could get a side of food poisoning after their visit. Management were apologetic about the incident but it could have been handled better. My advice, don't bother go elsewhere!!! Its a dirty take away shop portraying a classy restaurant!!!! Such a...

Decided to book a table to avoid the hassle of fighting for one at the mediocre food court as we knew it would be a busy day at the zoo. Turned up 5 mins before our booking time of 1pm, was told they had no record of our reservation. Showed them the confirmation email. ?Manager came and showed us to a table a few minutes later. Couldn't sit down properly as food smeared on the floor under the seat. The food was substandard for the whole 'book a table' vibe I thought the place supposedly had going for it. Our share starter (which consisted of some watery dips and the hardest bread I have ever experienced) arrived after three of the mains had already been sent out. Fish and chips were so oily husband couldn't eat for the rest of the day as he felt ill. My barramundi was flavourless and I'm not sure the chef knows what potato salad is as I appear to have just been given boiled chats with no flavour/dressing whatsoever. Kids stock standard fish and chips/burger and chips you would expect from a takeaway shop. 2 adults + 2 children cost $120! Expected much, much better than this for the price. Bathroom was dirty, only one of the staff members looked like they actually wanted to be there. By this point I would have preferred to stare at a brick wall and have decent service and food rather than 'The View'. Disappointing experience to say the least. Would not go again, would...

We arrived at 10:30 AM and were asked to return at 11:00 AM by a male staff. When we returned at 11:30 AM, there was a female staff member inside, and although the sign still said “Closed,” we waited patiently. We even checked with the adjacent café and were informed that dining would open at 12:00 noon.

At around 11:57 AM, a staff member walked past us and abruptly said, “I hope you know you have to order food from the café and then go in. We're not open for dining until next week.”

It would’ve been helpful if this had been communicated earlier—either through proper signage or by the staff who saw us waiting. There were also elderly people and children waiting alongside us, all under the impression that the dining area would open...
