Yarra Bay Beach has a backdrop that would make a great Jeffrey Smart painting. Once you get over the idea that beauty for beaches is linked only to unspoilt nature, it’s actually a pretty spectacular spot for a swim. On one side it’s green-tinged calm water lapping golden sand, while on the other side it’s planes, cranes, and container ships. It’s also a beach that welcomes everybody with plenty of pouty Kardashian-inspired babes sporting plenty of junk in the trunk of tiny bikinis joining families, couples, old and young, in all shapes and sizes. Dogs seem welcome, and people are friendly, including the odd cooker parking their imported American boat by the beach who complained about Government interference and wished us luck “washing the radiation off”.
