We recently went to the Boat Shed at La Perouse for a 30th birthday celebration. It is safe to say that no one in our dining party will be attending again anytime soon.

This was a group of 30 people on a Sunday lunch at 12pm. Once orders were taken and food began to come out, unfortunately that is when things began to unfold.

There was a mix up with the seafood platters that were ordered due to the service staff confirming that a cold seafood platter was for two people sitting at the table we were at. This then became an issue when people at the other end of the table were waiting on a cold seafood platter, which ended up being the one delivered to other party members with the confirmation that it was a cold and hot seafood plate as part of their seafood platter for two. Once this had been resolved through multiple conversations with different staff members, on came four different instances where additional seafood platters that were not ordered were brought to the table.

The quality of the food was average at best, with the ribs dry and some meals cold.

In addition to this, once everyone had just been delivered their main courses the service staff began to ask who wanted to order a coffee and tea which we politely advised was not right now as we were beginning to eat our meals.

The party member who's 30th birthday it was, asked for her birthday cakes to be brought out which ended up in over a 20 minute wait. We eventually just asked for the cake to be brought out and we would organize it at the table.

Please be careful with dining here on a Sunday as there is a 10% surcharge and a 1.5% card fee for each transaction for payment you will make.

For the significant amount of money it cost, we would highly recommend spending your money and...

Unfortunately I was forced to eat at this restaurant and I had an absolutely terrible time as someone who 1. Hates seafood 2. Is lactose intolerant and 3. Does not like eating a lot of meat. The only viable option for me other than a salad (a side) was the linguine bolognaise. It came out an hour after ordering and covered in Parmesan (note, I said I was lactose intolerant so this was a very unpleasant surprise!) The pasta was barely warm and the meat itself was cold and it was extremely oily. Moreover, the serving was absolutely tiny for something on the "substantial" menu! I'm always the last to finish my meals and today I was the first! A very unenjoyable experience. The boatshed burger was not good either. My brother said that it tasted like a gourmet Macca's burger. The burgers sauce wasn't nice and my brother didn't even want to finish it. The tomatoes tasted old and were not nice. However the chips were nice, so he would give his meal a 2/5. The fish and chips were too oily. They were nice but my cousin was unable to finish his food because it was too oily. The barramundi was very small and my cousin didn't like it The fish burger was also not nice. The restaurant is also extremely noisy and just made my experience overall worse. I wasn't going to review this place because I don't review restaurants where I know it is not to my taste, but even the few non-seafood options were bad. For me this was one of the worst places and compounded with my family's dislike of the food (and these are people who like seafood) I know that it is not a good resturant. I will definitely not be...

We went to the boat shed to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary and had a 6:30 pm reservation. As soon as we sat down we were asked if we wanted water for the table. As soon as the water was brought which was immediately we were asked if we were ready to order but we hadn't had a chance to look at the menu properly as yet. Then a different waiter came over and asked us if we wanted to add any food items as the kitchen was closing and we hadn't received any food as yet. I told him we were good as we had ordered our entre and main which was a platter for 2. The entre came out within 5 minutes and after that, the Main arrived possibly 10-15 minutes later. another waiter came and asked my husband who was halfway through his beer if he wanted another beer as the beer tap was closing. The entire time we were eating we had wait staff standing looking at us from the register which made us feel uncomfortable and rushed. when they saw we were chatting one waiter came over and said are you done to which I answered yes as I was so annoyed and uncomfortable and rushed. He then said would you like me to pack the food to go. I said no. We were home by 7:30 pm. Never got asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu didn't feel special in any way celebrating our wedding anniversary and were rushed out.

Very disappointed with the service. Why take 6:30 pm reservations if you want to shut your doors and kick people out by 7:30 pm? Thank you for not making my anniversary dinner special. Will not be returning to a place that made us feel rushed and...

Brunch at The Boat Shed, La Perouse! Started with the breakfast bruschetta, the spinach layer added a unique touch, but there was an overwhelming amount of avocado which kind of threw it off for me 🥑. The shakshuka, however, was much better: the sauce was rich and flavorful, with plenty of cheese to balance it out, and the bread was perfect for dipping. Overall, the food was decent, though not spectacular. The setting is a huge plus, with the stunning beachside location adding a relaxed, holiday-like atmosphere. ⭐️7.5/10 – solid option for a casual meal. #FoodReview #SydneyEats #BrunchGoals #Shakshuka #LaPerouse #SydneyFoodies #FoodieLife #BreakfastReview #FoodieAdventure #InstaFood #FYP #FYPシ
