I recently visited the "big thing" in Tocumwal and was thoroughly impressed! It's a fantastic landmark right in the main street, and I learned it was the second 'big thing' built in Australia. It's perfect for a photo opportunity and makes for a memorable stop during your journey.

One of the nicer made Australian Big Things that we have seen and well worth a visit. Plenty of angle parking close by. Big rigs would need to park in Anzac Avenue and walk up. I believe it is the second Australian Big thing made, the first being the Scotsman at Menindie SA. Tocumwal town itself is well worth a visit. Very clean and neat and do drop into the Infomation Centre next to the Big Cod too. Camping across the river looked nice.

No trip to Tocumwal is complete without visiting the Big Murray Cod. Tocumwal is chock-full of exciting things to do but the Big Murray Cod takes the cake as the #1 attraction. I drove all the way from Barooga and was fully rewarded for making the effort. I thought the Big Strawberry on the other side of the Murray was amazing but it's got nothing on the Big Murray Cod. Bellissimo.
