Timing my strolls for high tide, dawn or dusk, set the scene for picturesque camera shots, not to mention the breathtaking moments of sheer and natural beauty. I swaggered along this peaceful boardwalk, sometimes in company, sometimes blissfully alone, seven times in total during my stay in Urunga, and I must say, the beauty of The Lido scenery with its magnificent backdrop views of the sea to the East, mountains to the West, and fresh clean River system to the North, fill your eyes with an array of different colours everytime.

Read moreHave been here 3xtimes over the past 2 1/2 years. This boardwalk is long and is built over sand/water and through mangroves. It is in a beautiful area of Urunga and follows the river to the headlands. The boardwalk is situated at the end of the caravan park and you'll probably think where am I going? In the free parking area, there are toilets, seats, and a children's playground. The boardwalk starts from this area and is wheelchair accessable. It is a flat walking area and is on the narrow side, so common courtesy is required during busy times. You will see pelicans, seagulls, and other birds and plenty of crabs at low tide. There are stairs to wander down onto the sand (low tide) or splash through shallow water looking for fish etc. The boardwalk splits halfway so you can see more mangroves etc. There are repair works on a set of the stairs, and you can see where more maintenance is needed. Picturesque, tranquil and photogenic. Would highly recommend visiting this area if...
