On the 19th of Dec 2022 I ordered a large Pumpkin Patch Pizza. It was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will eat the other half tomorrow for dinner. Photos have been added. During the evening on the 10th of September 2020 I enjoyed Dinner of Scollopini on mash with vegetables accompanied with a lovely glass of Chardonnay. There is also a lovely spot to enjoy a Schooner of Carlton Dry on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Highly Recommended. Today, the 16th of Sept. I enjoyed fried whiting with chips and salad washed down with a glass of Chardonnay. I spent the night there, the bed was very clean and comfortable. Recently enjoyed a Twin Rivers: calamari/prawn pizza with a 3 cheese pizza as an entreè ☆☆☆☆☆

The good. A decent selection of beers on tap. It's a pub that's little changed for several decades apart from licks of paint. So an old school pub. Which is appealing. But. It's VERY dog UNFRIENDLY. Not even in the beer garden. No dogs. They even seem proud of it given the large sign. Plus despite sea breezes and close to the ocean, plastic weatherproof walls block much of the breeze. And the food. Like the pub, it's not changed for decades. Edible. But very very average. For similar prices the Federal Hotel in Bellingen is much much better. Go for a beer if you don't have a dog. But pass on the food.

I've wanted to go to the Oceanview Hotel for years and never have. It's a neat old 1920s pub in the small coastal town of Urunga NSW. I had the grass fed Scotch fillet with chips and salad. Mine was topped with prawns and calamari in a garlic cream sauce. All absolutely gorgeous. I like my steak medium well and it was good albeit a little firm. The pub is neat and clean and the outdoor area is pleasant. Great beers and compliant friendly staff. Normally I don't care about price but I felt $40.00 for steak and chips was enough for a pub. My lunch partner Anna had the seared salmon which was awesome.

Do not go to the Ocean View Hotel Urunga and expect any warm hospitality from the bar manager - the person in charge of the bookings. On two separate occasions, family members tried to book a table in the room with the servery as this is a suitable space for our 93 year old mother and also because we wanted to play trivia. The man taking the bookings told us both times that this room was reserved for locals and that he would put us in the marquis out the back - never mind that it should be totally unnecessary for our mother to have to walk that far and we made it clear she was part of our party.|We bring 25+ family members to Urunga in January and have done for 36 years. We spend a lot of money here including paying for accommodation and cannot understand why tourists are discriminated against in this way.||BTW We have found the people at the Urunga golf club are absolutely charming and nothing is too much trouble. The food is great and the view is outstanding. After this episode at the hotel, the golf club is now our go to place...

My room was basic yet nicely clean and good for its price. The bed was very comfortable and large and the pillows comfy.. It had a nice quiet ceiling fan and a tiny sink in the corner of the room. The shared ladies’ shower and bathroom were VERY clean. No mould in sight and smelled clean. . It was a pleasant surprise. There is one shared fridge for anything you’re trying to keep cold but no cooking facilities, no microwave.

The only issue I had was the 5am leaf blower for 10 minutes from the council (why so early?) And I could hear generators hum all night & morning (from the pub and/or the shops across the street?).

I assumed being in the middle of nowhere I would hear a pin drop but there was still quite a bit of ambient noise overnight even after all patrons left.

However, the staff are very friendly, The steak sandwich I had was delicious, the Sunday band ‘Alter Ego’ was great to listen to, the rooms were clean and the price was good. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience. It all depends on what you choose...

Took advantage of the Monday night 'Schnitzel Special' and it well exceeded expectations. We were told there was at least an hour's wait as power was out in 2 surrounding localities and everyone had descended on the OVH for dinner. We tossed up whether to wait the hour or just order a pizza out of the front of the pub. We decided to wait and just on 15 minutes later, our dinner was ready. I had chicken schnitzel with veg and mushroom sauce - the chicken was cooked to perfection, the veges were FRESH and cooked just enough to have a very light crunch and be nice and hot and best of all the serve of mushroom gravy was generous. I hate not getting enough gravy but they gave the perfect amount. We used to come here regularly but it changed hands and became what we thought was quite pricey without any noticeable improvement in the food. After last night's meal, we'll definitely be coming back - especially to try the...
