Perhaps I’d missed the no driving signs on the way to pass by as a Sound of Music fan (anyone else following the Big Boy SOM self-guided tour?), but I drove into the walking/biking path thanks to Google Maps’ instructions and earned some dirty looks from locals.

Read moreIt's nice to see this Schloss of which the gates and the front were used filming some rememberable scenes of the Sound of Music. The gate is where Maria got a first view of the house and where she returns later from the cloister.
No scenes of the movie were filmed inside, those were all done on sets in Hollywood
It was funny to see Sound of Music tour groups on bicycles visiting too with one bicycle playing songs from the movie.
