Wasserspielplatz Donauinsel — Attraction in Vienna

An absolute gem of a place! We have lived here for two years and never knew about this place until just recently. We are so happy to have discovered it. Our son enjoyed playing here for over three hours with his friend on a hot day and we will definitely go back. He especially enjoyed the raft that takes the children back and forth across the lake by their own power of pulling the rope. He also enjoyed the sand toys, provided by the Wasserspielplatz, to play in the sand and build castles and dig holes with. An absolute joy to watch him playing...

This is the best water playground I know... They have a variety of stuff for the kids to explore. Two downsides: the water is very, very, cold. For me as an adult it's actually really painful to even stay a few minutes in there with my feet. Amazingly: kids just don't feel pain that way. Second: there are hardly any shadowy areas to be. On hot summer days it gets really crowded and there is no way you'll get a spot in the shade for your kids.

But since this park is really cool, I'll give it 5...

Fantastic Splash Park located on the Danube Island, within walking distance from the U1 Donau Insel station. Hours of fun for both kids and parents. Park is gated, changing cubicles and showers all on site.
