I’ll never forget this place. It was raining hard and we wore our scooter helmets as we made our way to the last tunnel with the waterfall inside the cave. That whole day I nervously held the ring in my pocket and as we came out the other side we find the end of the trail with a huge opening to the beauty of Taiwan. That’s where I got down on one knee and told my girlfriend at the time that I want her to be my wife and that even though we wanted to live in Canada I told her I would move here for her. Nobody was around to see the beautiful moment. Just us two, God’s creation and an iPhone with a timer sitting on a rock. I want to share this joy with the world. We’ve been married now for two years in Taiwan and I can say it was the best decision I made in my whole life. Thank God for Taiwan and the beautiful and friendly people who live here. Did I mention Toroko Gorge is absolutely stunning? Doesn’t matter the weather... this place is MAGIC. Can’t wait to return here on our 10 year anniversary and propose to her again. Share love ❤️

A great, easy trail suitable for just about any hiker. The scenery as you’re walking is beautiful, but the real reward is at the end. The main waterfall has a nice sitting area to enjoy a break and a snack. Once you’ve finished that, keep going through the tunnels to the water curtain waterfalls. Bring a waterproof bag for your phone and a poncho (or rely on the kindness of strangers to pass on theirs when they’ve finished, as I did), and leave your shoes at the entrance to the cave (or bring flipflops to change into). It is magic! I recommend doing this hike around midday or early afternoon, as the light on the tree-covered cliffs will be better for photos. There is a 7-11 in Tianxiang if you want to pick up snacks for the hike, as well as bathrooms (bring your own toilet paper, as they do not always have it). Prepare to carry out all your rubbish; there are no public trash bins on the trail or in Tianxiang. I am a fit, fast hiker and it took me 2 hours round trip from the 7-11 including a few stops for snacks and photos.

Such a beautiful place. The whole walk takes about 1 hour 30mins to the end of the cave!! There’s free poncho available. But I recommend you bring your own umbrella or poncho. There’s only a pave way for one person to enter so becareful. I recommend to bring a torch light as your phone flashlight is not enough. The view inside is magnificent and hearing the water fall inside the cave is so cool. Wear waterproof shoes or non leather shoes. Spray nano protector if you have. Careful of rocks falling down as I seen along the path there’s rock that was fallen. The waterfall outside and the bridge is so cool. It’s a resting place as well. So take as many photo. There’s a limit for walking on the bridge. So please do check. Overall definitely a nice place! Would come again.

Beautiful trail where you can walk through tunnels, suspension bridges, edge of cliffs overlooking the gorge and deep canyons into the river culminating in a rain curtain cave, passing by the most impressive and magnificent waterfall on the way. The 2km hike is on flat terrain, which took us roughly 1 hr going in and another hour coming out, including stopping to enjoy the views and taking photos. Very doable even for the elderly with good walking capabilities. Some tunnels are wet and mostly dark, so use your handphone light or bring a small torchlight. If you plan to walk in the final rain curtain cave, you will be drenched so bring a raincoat with you. There are toilets and wash area at the end of the trail.

One star as currently closed beyond the first observation platform. No information provided until at the car park. We were at the visitor centre prior, and no mention of this by the staff even we repeatedly asked whether there is anything else we should know about the current state of the park. Car park and toilet at the beginning of the trail. Walk into the tunnel to access to beginning of the trail. A torch is recommended but not necessary. Lots of baby stalactites in the tunnel. Scenery up to the first observation point is okay, not really worth it at the moment. Photos provided were the best shots along the way.

A trail that is accessible by walking from 天祥 7-11 or service area. Takes around 10-12 minutes of walking along the highway, which you have to keep as close to the wall as possible due to passing traffic. Would advise to park at 天祥 and walk over (around 700m to 900m) as there is only a space for parking of two to three cars along the highway. The entire trail is 2.1km long with beautiful scenic views!! There is a waterfall at the end and a tunnel with running water whereby you can enter. Would advise to bring along slippers and raincoats and a waterproof packaging for your phone! Very beautiful trail, Must visit!!!
