The Kuril Flyover is a significant infrastructure development located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, designed to alleviate the heavy traffic congestion in the city's northern region. Opened in August 2013, it plays a crucial role in connecting key areas, including Shahjalal International Airport, Pragati Sarani, and Nikunja. Before the flyover was built, the intersection where Kuril-Bishwa Road meets Airport Road was notorious for its traffic jams, causing severe delays for commuters.

The flyover, which spans 3.1 kilometers, is part of a broader strategy to improve Dhaka’s road network and ease urban mobility. It was constructed by the Roads and Highways Department of Bangladesh with financial assistance from the government and the World Bank. The project aimed to provide a smooth, uninterrupted flow of traffic, thereby reducing travel time and fuel consumption.

Designed to handle over 60,000 vehicles daily, Kuril Flyover features multiple entry and exit ramps, allowing vehicles to bypass traffic lights and busy intersections. It has significantly improved connectivity to key commercial and residential areas, facilitating faster travel to the airport and other parts of the capital. Despite these improvements, Dhaka’s growing population and vehicle numbers still challenge the city’s traffic management system, making the flyover one of many projects needed to address...

One of the very first and quite complex as well as most prominent highway traffic junctions of Bangladesh. It ensured smooth flow of traffic to and from three most important roads of Dhaka, if you start from Airport and go South, one goes to Bashunhora/ Badda / Rampura, another goes towards Banani Mohakhali and the last one is headed to the newest part of the city, Purbachal. There are several ways in between and you can go from each direction to the other if you follow the rather complex...

One of the most busiest area in dhaka. Situation has improved because of the flyover. You can go towards Mirpur, Kalshi, Cantonment, Uttara, Airport, Bashundhara, Nodda, Rampura, Hatirjheel, Purbachal, Narsingdi from here. The brtc bus counter is beside the rail line. From here you can by tickets for Narsingdi Gausia, Itakhola and some other location. Bus for other locations are available under the flyover.

It's one of the best planned flyovers of Dhaka. It's widely multi-purpose, connecting different vital places of Dhaka. - Purbachal through 300 ft road - Uttara/Khilkhet - Banani/Mohakhali - Badda/Rampura - ECB/Mirpur The U-turns are well navigated and saves a ton of time. Alongside it's has a lake and the beauty of Nikunja 1. It gets it's best look in spring when the Krishnachura flower blooms!
