Despite its intentions, the flyover has faced several criticisms: • Design Flaws: Experts have pointed out issues such as the absence of vital right-turn provisions and other design shortcomings that have impacted traffic efficiency .  • Construction Delays and Cost Overruns: Originally slated for completion in December 2014 with a budget of Tk 7.73 billion, the project experienced delays and cost escalations, culminating in a final cost of approximately Tk 11.35 billion .  • Safety Concerns: During construction, incidents such as a girder collapse resulted in fatalities and injuries, raising concerns about safety protocols .
