Review by Ashfaq Rahman: The Rainy Roof Restaurant is high up (12th floor) in a building in Dhaka. The building is called the Bangladesh Textile Mills Corporation Bhaban. Good thing is that they have a dedicated lift. Bad thing is that they dont have any parking facilities. Some things at the restaurant were good, and some were bad.
We came to the restaurant at 12.55 PM. We were so hungry. Right when we got there, we asked for Potato Wedges and Spring Rolls. We also knew our friends would come at 1.30 PM. So we wanted the bigger meals to be ready by then. The bigger meals were English Grill, Spaghetti Bolognese, Beef Sizzling, and Egg Fried Rice.
But, we had a big problem. The food took too long to come. The Potato Wedges and Spring Rolls only came at 1.30 PM, when our friends arrived. And the main meals came even later at 1.55 PM. We also had another problem. After we ordered Szechuan Beef, they said, after 5-6 minutes that, they didn't have it. So we ordered Beef Sizzling, based on their suggestion, instead. But they didn't tell us it didn't come with rice. We had to order Egg Fried Rice extra when the food was served approx. 30 Minutes late. We didn't like that.
Now, let's talk about the food. The Potato Wedges cost Tk. 161.91 (+ applicable charges, all food price mentioned her is net of charges). But they didn't taste good at all. They tasted like the paste had too much of garlic. Some of us don't like garlic. So we didn't like the Potato Wedges. The Spring Rolls cost Tk. 209.52. They were just okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. However, some of the rolls were burnt here and there.
The English Grill was next. It cost Tk. 504.76. But it didn't taste very good. It didn't taste grilled. It tasted like it had sauce on it for which the inside of the chicken was almost favorless. And they didn't give us enough rice for how much we paid.
Then we had the Spaghetti Bolognese. It cost Tk. 303.03. But it didn't taste like real Spaghetti Bolognese. It tasted like they used sauce from a packet of maggi noodles, not real sauce. Even with a lot of meat, it didn't taste right for how much it cost.
The Beef Sizzling (1:3) was different. It cost Tk. 714.29. It was the best part. It had beef, mushrooms, and fresh veggies. It tasted very good. It felt like we got what we paid for with the Beef Sizzling.
Even with these problems, the restaurant was nice. We liked eating on the rooftop. We could hear the city below. It looked very nice. There were nice spots for pictures. But, The Rainy Roof Restaurant needs to do better. They need to bring the food faster. The food should taste better. And it should be worth the...

I had recently visited and taken lunch here with my friend. We also took roof environment to seat.
A good restaurant with evergreen roof environment. You can go there to enjoy your foods with a green view and under the sky light!
There is also a roof compartment with stairs. This compartment is specifically designed for night or evening time with decorative lighting! Their chairs are nice to view.
Their service is quite good. But I have got something to notice. I am going to describe that. We at first had seat a table. After giving order, the waiter service person set the napkin box on the table. Then we went to take some pictures and see the view of all the corners of this restaurant. And it took few times to back to our seat. However, when we backed to our table, we saw that four customers already took our table that means they had seated.
And the waiter what had done? He provided our dishes on the near another table! What type of service is this? I am wondered that he couldn't forbid the new customers to have seat elsewhere! It is not acceptable. We're also customers and went to take our food, not to see only the view or take photos!
However, I requested the customers to take seat elsewhere as we were there. And they respectfully took other table.
And it seemed that the service person is somehow annoyed at us! As we looked students or young!
However, we had ordered Hyderabad Biriyani. It is with steamed bashmati rice and two pieces of mutton, and olive chutney.
Now let's talk about the taste. I am always a kacchi fan. In case of rice meal, I always prefer kacchi. The Hyderabad Biriyani also tastes like kacchi. The differences are the bashmati rice is little bit thin than the normal kacchi bashmati rice. And the another special item is the fried masala type onion. It boosted the taste of Hyderabad Biriyani!
I am waiting for tasting other items from this restaurant. Moreover, the evening time could be enjoyable! However what i have understood that is the location is kind of weird, at Kawran Bazar. It isn't a common place to have food for people. But the persons who do job nearby can prefer this place.
At last, they have only two restrooms, one is for gents, and another one is for ladies.
It's all from my point of view. Thank...
Read moreIndulge in an oasis of tranquility and elegance at this exquisite restaurant in Dhaka! It is truly the epitome of sophistication and an ideal destination for a delightful outing with your loved ones. Having explored numerous restaurants across various countries, I can honestly say that I have never encountered such a nature-inspired setting within a dining establishment before. The food? Utterly phenomenal! Every dish boasts the finest quality ingredients and the flavors are simply divine.
Hygiene is a top priority here, and I was captivated by the transparency of their open kitchen, allowing me to observe the meticulous food preparation process. They maintain impeccable standards without compromise. In fact, I conducted a sound pollution measurement in decibels, and to my delight, this restaurant outperformed any other in Dhaka, providing a serene dining environment.
Moreover, the service at Rainy Roof Restaurant was nothing short of excellent. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality truly enhanced the overall experience. I don't just like this place, I absolutely adore it! This restaurant deserves a perfect 5/5 rating from me for its exceptional offerings...
