Given to the people of Derby in 1867 by Michael Bass of Bass Brewery with a covenant that essentially prevents the land from being used for anything other than a public park. It's sometimes referred to as the Holmes and is essentially an island of sorts. Basically it's an open green space almost directly in the city centre, popular during the summer, there's sometimes events held. It also forms part of Derby's national cycle network. There's also a very popular skate park near the city centre/bus station side. Nice enough but with a little investment it could be excellent.

Extremely beautiful place to visit 😍 Was my first time there, and I LOVED IT! Loads of pigeons, ducks, black swans, etc. Has some benches to sit on Keep an eye out for cyclists, as they are many (Plus you don't want to knock one down 😅). Good for long walks No toilets No playgrounds Not recommend to climb the walls as it's a really big fall (that's if you were to have a fall). No Lifeguards, so do keep your little ones within arms reach.

Lovely green space used by all types of people ruined to build a pump station. Not sure why this couldn't have been built further south east where there's plenty of waste ground. Not to mention all the trees chopped down. People wonder why young people are "up to no good" and then they ruin what few green spaces are left for them to enjoy

Pretty good park, got a path and a skate park. Would have given 5 but large portion is closed to public
