So I originally left a 5* review on here due to great customer service, wonderful food and great ability to accommodate people however, I feel the need to give a special shout out to Charlotte for the outstanding service this evening.

My partner and I came in not long after eating at a sushi place which made us both feel VERY unwell. We needed a reliable place to sit and eat a proper meal.

We were given full service by Charlotte who was hands down amazing, not only did she give outstanding customer service and a great ability to accommodate but she was also someone who was very approachable, eager to assist and just a lovely person.

She came to check up on myself and my partner a couple of minutes we received our meals and noticed my partner wasn't there. She saw the slightly worried look on my face and immediately expressed genuine concern. She checked on our table twice in the matter of a few minutes before going into the toilet to check on my partner who came out looking terrible. We had not long eaten at a sushi place within the Intu food court which made us both feel very poorly due to very poor hygiene. (I left them a 1* review). Wagamamas has proven again and again as a team that this is a great place to eat and also a place where people do genuinely care about the wellness of others and have an excellent ability to...

I just wanted to give a shout out to Leah who looked after me and my friend during our recent visit to Wagamama. Leah was welcoming and kind and beyond friendly with us, even engaging in our immature questions of the day and telling us jokes. She was always on hand to provide any assistance to us and regularly checked up on myself and my friend to ensure we had everything we needed. Leah definitely helped contribute to the overall relaxed and enjoyable evening that we had and her personality was catching and we definitely enjoyed our experience there. Leah even engaged in banter with us and was able to give back some smack talk and also take smack whilst maintaining a professional attitude and demeanour at all times. We would definitely come back to visit Wagamama for the service of Leah and the food as this was prepared and brought out to us in a timely manner and was very nice. Leah even provided further suggestions as to what we would like and what she would recommend, which was thoroughly appreciated. Leah also told us how she makes fresh Pasta from scratch and how she would love to replace Steve in the Kitchen and so if we could make that happen, that would be great as she said and I quote "I am better then Steve could ever be". Thank you for your service Leah and we will...

Firstly this is normally my favourite place to eat but today a staff member, 20 min wait to even have a drinks order taken when it was semi busy and a 10 minute difference in meals being brought out has made it a 2 star review. The food was as always good but in our party of 4, 3 had there food brought out with the last coming a good 10 minutes later. The waitress who served us clearly did not want to be there, she approached our table and noticed the allergen book in our table and said “ oh she has the allergy I need the manager” and walked off. Pretty rude and embarrassing. The same girl rolled her eyes and dident respond to one of our party when asked for a straw and had the same attitude when asked for folks as our table had none. Don’t know if she had a bad day but she certainly appeared to be unhappy in her work. It won’t put me off returning to Wagamama as I do enjoy it here as do my family but just might give the Derby one a wide birth. I do want to point out we have dined at this companies restaurants on 2 other occasions, but not in this area and the staff and service has been brilliant, but if today had been my first experience of the company it would have...

Been to Wagamama a fair few times but never to the one in Derby. You can’t book a table at Wagamama (which I don’t like) as they only accept walk in’s. Luckily it was fairly quiet when we arrived around 8:30pm on a Saturday. For drinks I had a cloudy lemonade and my partner had a Pandan passion fruit colada which was nice but nearly £9 for a very small cocktail is a bit much! We had two portions of the chilli squid and the pulled pork gyoza which was 10/10. I had the Beef brisket hot pot for my main which was nice but my god it was spicy! Whilst my partner had her go to favourite the Chicken katsu curry. Overall great experience and great customer service, also really good idea that they have the QR code on the menu so you can pay for your bill when you’re ready which is nice touch.

Probably my favourite "chain" restaurant, has an independent feel to it. Beef brisket ramen is delicious as is the chilli chicken ramen, Katsu chicken curry and Korean BBQ steamed buns. Of special mention is the Bang Bang cauliflower, a mix of soft and crunchy, sweet, sticky and firery hot. Food is brought out fresh therefore not all at the same time, however it's normally only a few minutes wait. Chopsticks are laid out on the table, however knifes and forks are in the condiment basket if you need them. Always super clean and tidy with helpful, polite and genuinely nice staff.
