The Onze-Lieve Vrouwekerk (Our Lady Ascension Church) was a very pleasant surprise when visiting Damme. The church grounds include a historic tower that can be visited during the summer months, an old burial ground, and the ruins of an older church. With origins dating back to the beginning of the 14th century, the grounds overall are worth exploring. Read moreVery cool, old church. Nothing restorative done here, which shows from the signs on the surrounding lawns warning for possible falling rocks. Inside it's very basic with a few ornamentals to see. I liked the book you can write in for yourself or somebody else. The old wall from 1274 (thereabouts if I recall correctly) was interesting to have seen up close.
During the day you can go up the tower. We were too late for that unfortunately.
