This museum is not for profit and having Royal Queen of Bhutan's permission to showcase Bhutanese artifact. This place is but costly which particularly charges different prices to different countries. For Indian it charges RS 💯 or NU 100 or for SAARC people. You can see major weaving habits of different regions of Bhutan along with different kinds of cotton used to knit fabrics. This place is also famous to purchase Bhutan t-shirts which you can find outside too but quality over here is better✌️☺️

Located in a beautiful complex, an imposing building very near to the city center, it was a pleasure to go through this museum. It gives a glimpse of the rich heritage of Bhutan's traditional textile weaving and designing. The entire complex is very well maintained. There are quite a few steps for going to the higher floor, and we, Sr. Citizens would have definitely preferred to take an elevator... May be we missed to find one in the lobby. Overall, it was a very nice experience.

Preserving Bhutan's Traditional Textile Designs. The Bhutan Royal Textile Academy had been established to preserve the traditional Bhutanese style textile. They have a large complex which houses a museum, and rented to BPC, different offices and a restaurant. The office building is well maintained and interior are decorated with modern fittings. The offices here include BPC, JICA, ADB, World Bank, East West Safari, Bhutan for Life etc.

Its a calm and beatiful place in the heart of the thimphu city. Building itself is a mesmerizing architectural mix of Bhutanese style and western culture. There is a ticketing system for the entry in to museum. Inside we can see a lot of fabrics from the different parts of Bhutan. And also they exbhit a lot of award winning works. They will also show you a tele video of how these fabrics are made using hand looms as well as machine.

Best place to learn about Bhutanese textile culture with all the textile that exist in Bhutan can be seen here. Next to textile museum you will find international corporations and some agency. Big surrounding with parking lot. Its very clean toilet facilities are there too. Don't miss if you want to learn about textile history and culture that existed in Bhutan.

Visited the place but not attended the documentary film on textile. The atmosphere is good and you can see Bhutanese Weaver's fabric displayed in a small shop on ground floor. The unique design weaving weft & warp pattern in bright colours gives a traditional Bhutanese look. I learn from here that these fine weaves are called ' hinga-tha'.
