The owners/managers are deceitful. Upon check-in they stated that there would be an extra "exchange" fee if you pay in local currency so that they can convert their income into USD which calculated to an extra 9%, though the booking stated that all Tax was included. I paid them in cash and requested a receipt which they agreed on. Then after I paid they said they couldn't provide one now, but in the afternoon they would WhatsApp me. 3 days past until they issued a fake receipt which showed that I paid the booking amount in dollars when I paid in local currency and which didn't show the extra 9%. Other travellers I met thereafter agreed that these people exude dishonesty with slimey behaviours. Additionally the property wasn't maintained at all. Literally no maintenance to be seen since the hostels inception. It's clear that either their tenancy is ending or they plan to close so they're stealing money before the final exit. Don't stay here, don't promote dishonesty. They also lied via booking.com messenger stating that my number doesn't have WhatsApp... though they eventually sent the receipt via WhatsApp.. ....

Worst hostel ever, the guy from the entrance was super rude I felt really uncomfortable. They get in the room of ONLY girls without knocking. The bedsheets are dirty and there is no locker to put your stuff, I mean there there are but you have to buy your own padlock.. when I asked for a solution they just despise and said “this is Bolivia” I love Bolivia and they don’t even respect their own country by saying that… Also omg there are only 2 toilets for all the hostel and the toilets are not even separated from the guys… (I’m a girl) AND there is a window in one of the toilets where we can see basically everything from outside… be careful girls, I had to take my shower in the dark… I really don’t recommend it’s better to get a bit far from the center and have a better stay.

Furthermore.. the night there is really awful, there is a club in the hostel so it’s like impossible to sleep or to relax the music is...

Location is the highlight of the place by far. The pros other than that are big beds and great warm showers. Cons are that it doesnt have a kitchen, which is super unusual for a hostel. Most beds dont have power sockets or lamps. Unventilated room with no fan or ac. Gets pretty loud. And the thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was the feeling that they take every chance to take more money from you. I wanted to do a hike and come back in the afternoon, so i asked if i could check out and leave my bag somewhere in the hostel and arrive in the afternoon after the hike to take it. Very common thing to ask in a hostel, and they said that ill have to pay extra for it. Ive been to literally thousands of hostels at this point and this never happens. Conclusion, good location, and good if you really like socializing, but if you want a good hostel as is, this one isnt too good...

For about 50 bolivianos, I stayed two nights in this hostel. One receptionist was very bored, another one was quite welcoming and nice. The room had three three-level bunk beds and so despite the room only having about five to six people whilst I was here, the floor of the small room was covered in shoes and backpacks and it was all in all a bit claustrophobic. The general hygiene of the hostel was quite bad: they just clean the floor and that's it. Bathrooms were okay to Bolivians standards. Only one of two bathroom had warm water. There are also some showers outdoors, which didn't have any hot water when I used them. Wifi was okay. There's a small book exchange as well. Not the best hostel but quite well located. Whilst being here there were also two wallets stolen by a guest.

This is about the cheapest hostel in Santa Cruz and it's smack bang in the middle of the city center. The rooms could be a bit bigger but they are clean and the beds are more than reasonably sized, which makes up for lack of storage space. The hostel itself is in a beautiful old building right next to the cathedral and 24th september square. Owner and staff are always approachable and do their utmost to help whenever they can - giving info, calling taxis, storing luggage - you name it. There's a bar downstairs where you can enjoy one of the many beers stocked in the fridge or enjoy your own food.

This Is One of The Nicest Hostel I've Been To In A While. Aside From The Good Accommodations, Internet And Hot Showers... The Wide Section Of Artisanal Beer Is The Best. Nicolas, The Host /Owner Is Helpfull In All Aspects. It Is Sorta Hard To Find Good Beer Here. Google Maps Does Show Many Bars In The Area, But When You Arrive Nothing Is There. I Would Stay Here Again Any Time.
