Parque Portugal - Lagoa do Taquaral — Attraction in Região Imediata de Campinas

It's one of the most known places in Campinas. It's a classic park you should visit if you are in town.

A lot of trees, tracks for walking/running and cycling. There is a big lagoon in the inside with an inner track. A lot of sports courts (basketball, volleyball, soccer, etc) of cement and sand.

It's a very good place to spend a few hours.

It's lacking some conservation and it doesn't allow pets inside, sadly.

More recently it is hosting some cultural activities and during August 2019 there was the DegustArt festival there with a lot of known restaurants serving food and drinks in small portions. It was very tasty! A fun fact: there was a lot of people from iFood (using the typical "motorcycle delivery uniform") grabbing the order on the table, going to the restaurants stands, taking the order and bringing to you. O parque é amplo e bem interessante, cheio de atrações para todas as idades. Tem um lago bonito com pedalinhos, frequentado por patos, pássaros variados e muitas, muitas capivaras! Elas estão em todo lugar! Tem a fonte sonora, uma concha acústica e uma espécie de anfiteatro a céu aberto onde ocorrem shows. Tem tirolesa, e muitos lugares para caminhar. Tem também um planetário legal dentro da sua área e um museu de ciências que, teoricamente, deveria estar aberto no dia em que fui (um domingo) - mas não estava, está em manutenção e sem qualquer placa explicativa a respeito... Tem uma réplica de uma caravela bem grande e interessante para visitar... mas ela também estava fechada em pleno domingo, e também sem qualquer placa explicativa a respeito. Quando você entra no parque, impossível não notar os trilhos de um bondinho em toda sua extensão... mas não tem bonde nenhum, e nenhuma explicação a respeito do mesmo, se está em manutenção, nada... Assim, é um parque legal, mas com tantas atrações desativadas ou em manutenção, deixa uma impressão não muito positiva em quem o visita, especialmente porque não há qualquer explicação sobre o funcionamento ou não das coisas. Fora isso, os banheiros públicos que vi estavam imundos e com um cheiro terrível... O planetário, cujo preço é bem barato (R$ 10 a inteira no domingo, em dinheiro - se for com cartão, cobram um pouco mais caro...) é bem legal... só que minha sessão acabou no final por falta de luz, e não havia gerador.... legal que até quiseram dar novas entradas para todos, mas também inesperado....

Em suma, um parque legal, com boa infraestrutura, várias opções de comida na entrada principal, atrações interessantes, mas que peca pela falta de limpeza nos banheiros, falta de manutenção em geral e total falta de informação sobre o funcionamento das atrações. Requer mais cuidado dos seus...

Better with family.

This is an excellent spot for running, offering wide and varied trails with spots of shade at all times of day, the path was not paved in all places and so it may be muddy in the rain.

There is a big ship to explore and beautiful plants. There were paddle boats but they had a cost to try. And some play equipment for kids.

Depending on your disposition, this may not be the best place to go if you have limited time. There is not much that distinguishes it from any other large park in the world and it is not well maintained.

It was hot and few places to buy water so...
