Museu Catavento — Attraction in Região Imediata de São Paulo

Excellent museum. Lots of cool things to see. Could easily spend a day and not see everything. It is incredibly cheap to go as well. Staff are friendly, helpful and numerous. The exhibits are highly interactive. We attended with our 7 year old and he got a lot out of it.

A few things to note: there is only one cafe. It is busy but efficient. They don't serve proper meals- just snacks. Bring something healthy if you want your kids to have something like that. I think the dining options are a missed opportunity here- but I guess there are food trucks outside and its so busy they need efficiency. we went in the school holidays. By midday it was insanely busy- lines everywhere and borderline unpleasant. Get there early (eg 10am) and you will have easy access to everything for a couple of hours. almost everything, signs included, is in Portuguese and nonprher language. This is surprising in a big city loime SP. We are both scientists, so we could educate our kid without the translation- just be prepared. the ticketed sessions- not as confusing as it seems initially. Just log in with your entry tickets, and then get ready to refresh your browser each time new sessions come on. As soon as you see the session you want do not hesitate. They will disappear in a second. Have back up options. We saw the microscopy, the dinosaurs- but then it was too crazh after...

Gostei muito de ir no catavento. Tinha ido há uns anos mas não tinha nenhuma exposição especial e foi na semana. Dessa vez fui nas férias de julho então tinha exposições especiais. Sobre as senhas para as salas especiais: Mas infelizmente a falta de informação é terrível!!! E faz a nossa experiência ser estressante. Você precisa agendar no site das salas que deseja participar( o que na minha humilde opiniãodeveria tem no site ou em algum lugar o passo a passo de como pegar essas senhas, pois só consegui aprender lá na hora e mesmo assim nãome passaram as informações completas. (Tem senhas que não valem a pela não é exatamente um lugar especial). Ficou faltando a informação de que cada pessoa tem direito a 4 exposições de sala especial. Ou seja quando vc agenda 4, esgotou você não pode agendar mais nada. E o melhor é você assistir uma exposição e enquanto estiver nela agenda as outras com uns 15 mins de intervalo para não perder a entregada da próxima se não eles não deixam entrar como foi no meu caso. Perdi 2 senhas pois agendei as salas especiais com horários próximos e as vezes atrasa o final e até achar o local de cada uma já era. Então façam uma litinha de 4 salas que desejam assistir.

O restante do museu não precisa de senha, então aconselho ver o restante no final. Chegar cedo para participar das oficinas e conseguir as senhas.

Mas se não conseguir as senhas é muito bom também. Pois não dá pra conhecer tudo num dia só. Precisaria ir um dia só para cada andar rsrs.

Os funcionários: super atenciosos, fui muitoooo bem tratada por todos!!! Gratidão ♥️ É lindo ver como vocês amam o que fazem.

Lanchonete: como fomos almoçar no mercadao fica 10min a pé do catavento não comemos na Lanchonete. Mas tirei foto para vocês. Tem salgados, café, coxinha 15,00, salgadinhos.

Limpeza: lugar limpo!

Sugestão: Semanalmente coloquem no YouTube, Instagram ou site as atrações que terão (principalmente nas ferias) como se inscrever, as regras para que as pessoas consigam se programar melhor.

Será que seria possível colocarem uma parte com armários para mochilas igual no museu do Ipiranga pois quem.vai com crianças é muito cansativo, já que não tem muita opção para comer lá, acabamos levando lanches e ficar andando com mochila na hora de interagir com a exposição não é legal.

Pra quem vai sozinha é só pedir para os funcionários de colete verde gravar e tirar fotos, vai cedo pois ai não tem muitas pessoas, depois das 11h impossível andar sem esbarragar nas pessoas...

During the week a lot of what seemed to be fun activities to do with your kids were closed during the weekday. Unfortunately most things only are open to the public on weekends.

The layout of the museum was interesting but I personally wasn't a fan of the section dedicated to drugs and the consequences of them. I understand the intention behind educating youth in regards to not using drugs but do you really need to have graphic images of before after pictures of meth users?

Lastly, this musuem only provides information in Portuguese. So if you are here only as a visitor who doesn't speak the native language I would skip on the place.

Overall, I found the staff helpful but this museum is lacking in opening itself up more to the public...
