Clock Tower — Attraction in Plovdiv

The Turkish clock tower built in the 16th century is one of the oldest in the eastern part of Europe. The earliest record is from 1623. It was rebuilt in its present shape in 1812 and is high 17.5 meters. It rang twice at noon. A new clock from Vienna was installed in 1883. Great spot for 360 views at different points. Not a difficult hike so that is a plus. Can't give it 5 stars due to the amount of litter I saw. A short hike to the clock tower. Not really a lot to see but you can hike up several different trails to the top including the normal path. What makes this place great is being at the top and watching the sun set behind the distant mountains. It's a very special place for that. You can take stunning...
