It's an okay beach. The water is so so. But the freaking sand fleas are absolutely out of this world. They eat you alive. So I look at this really as a third rate beach in the middle of nowhere. Besides everything else the Chinese are literally buying the island and have installed concrete highway in the middle of it. They're about to put in an airport that will allow them to fly the Chinese directly from China to here and Olney Island. Read moreThe beach is nice but don't use the boat trip service at the end of the pier! It was terrible. We paid $35 dollars for two, and they didn't go to most places they listed. The 'captain' was visibly drunk or on something, they played music so loud your ears would burst, and the food they served was mediocre at best. To top it off some swimmers were almost hit by an incoming boat during plankton watching at the last stop. Read moreThis is LONG SET BEACH. We’ve been to Long Set beach 3 times and it is our favorite. Most hotels seem to clean up the beachfront, it’s not crowded, and there are plenty of options for food and lodging.
I prefer it over Koh Rong Soelon . We stayed at Scarlet Sails and Hill beach resort, both good choice if you are looking for peace. Came in mid December, perfect weather. NO problem with sand fleas.
