Beautiful Beachfront Boutique
A wonderful Boutique Hotel located in a quieter part of the island on the eastern coast that is still a quick boat ride away from all the main action, but with the peaceful ambience of a romantic retreat. Considering the island doesn’t have a lot of options other than 3-star kind of backpacker guesthouses and lodges, this boutique chic property is a refreshing relief for folks looking for some classier accommodation options with all the creature comforts and frills. And at the price you pay, this is a steal!
LOCATION: Excellent location right on the Long-set beach. But a a 10 minute boat ride away from all the main action, bars and restaurants in the main pier of Koh Rong! So you are practically captive at this place unless you decide to pay. A $20 one way private boat ride!
DINE + DRINK: They have a lovely wooden restaurant and bar located right on the beach! The tables on the beach sand are lovely options to grab a sundowner drink. You also have a couple of backpacker lodges nearby that have some characterful bars that are open until late in the night. The Chefs in the restaurant are good and made some mean local Khmer food for dinner as well as some authentic vegetarian noodle soups for breakfast. Do try the Fish Amok! The bar also serves cold draft beers.
ROOM: I stayed in 202, so this review is based on that; VIEW: No view at all!,Just a door opening into the pathway! ; SIZE: Reasonably spacious room; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Nice Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: lovely. Spa quality cosmetics
FACILITIES: A makeshift gym that is nothing more than a few weights and really outdated machines, but still a super bonus considering where you are! They do have a lovely. Swimming pool build in a balinese style that is a great place for a lounging dip.
SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of.
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Medium speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. No Television...

Totally worth it.
Check in was smooth & we were greeted by both friendly staff & manager.
Resort itself is visually a little run down in parts i.e. timber framing of main eating area/lobby, but they still serve their purpose.
The 3 swimming pools are beautiful, gardens well maintained & the location itself is magic & peaceful. Perfect for R & R.
Food overall in the restaurant was well made & good quality, Buffett breakfast was very basic with the standard omelette chef that are common in these resorts.
Room layouts are set up well for privacy with their own courtyards. We hardly saw anyone around the rooms and they were booked out.
Mosquitos/bugs in room not a major problem, but standing on the sand or at some of the furniture out near the beach and they'll get onto you pretty quick.
Lots of self managed activities ( kayak, paddle board etc) to choose from, but we chose to chill (didn't use the gym either, can do that when not on holidays).
My favourite part of this place compared to many similar resorts around the world: You don't get pestered by hawkers on the beach. It makes such a difference. A great relaxing beach experience.
Suggestions:
move that beautiful entry way at the front of the resort to the beach side where everyone arrives. It's wasted where it is. get your own ATM, you'll make $$ from it. improve the wifi around the resort. Sometimes people need to get work done & it's much easier to do from your room, but signal not strong enough. Easy fix.
Overall, Long Set represents good value & I'd recommend you stay here at least once.
Special mention to the massage ladies & Chong-Li...one of the lovely restaurant staff that all really made an effort to engage & do their jobs well.
Wishing you all every success...

If you’re considering staying on Koh Rong island, let me save you some time as there’s really no need for you look at any other accommodation than Long Set Resort.
Everything about our stay was incredible. It’s located on arguably the nicest beach on the island, with soft white sand and turquoise waters.
It’s also right next to the pier, where we were warmly greeted by a member of staff who wheeled our luggage to the resort. So getting to and from Sihanoukville was really easy.
It’s also away from any noisy hostels and parties, whilst also being within reasonable walking distance (or a boat taxi journey!) if you fancy attending these.
There are also some restaurants and convenience stores a minute or two away, so there are options for food if you fancy eating outside of the resort. However, the meals we had at the resort were delicious and the breakfast options were plentiful and really tasty.
The rooms and facilities are kept to a very high standard, with a high level of cleanliness and comfort. There’s also a pool with sun beds, an impressively-stocked gym and a ping pong room, so there’s plenty to do. The sun beds on the beach are particularly comfortable - which is where we spent a lot of our time sipping cocktails.
Finally, the staff were brilliant, attentive and always friendly and smiling. It was genuinely a pleasure to interact with them each day. We were particularly pleased with Owen, who helped us out with plans, so many arrangements and he was always happy to give us advice about the island. He really always went above and beyond with us.
Overall, all the staff did a great job, the resort and setting is stunning, and I’d recommend it to anyone I know. It was a slice of paradise we’ll...
