We had the choice between here or the Revelstoke pipe mountain coaster and chose the Skybridge.
It's a very new and well maintained park/attraction. But it has that unfortunate Pursuit aftertaste: expensive, packed, and impersonal. It's hard to cheer it on when Pursuit seems to be buying up and commoditizing all the special places. Makes you feel a bit guilty to participate in it. Especially as someone who worked for them in the past and lived and worked in both Banff and Jasper. It is fun though? Yes, definitely.
Aside from that the park is filled with quite a lot of things to do, especially if you have kids. There is a massive playground, huge rope course, swing over the canyon, ziplines, axe throwing, two extremely long skybridges, and the mountain coaster. Very safe operation though.
There's a few different ticket options that include an adventure package or just the bridges as general admission. If you decide to add on an experience after you only buy general admission you can buy tickets for the extras at each one so you don't need to walk back to the main ticket sales. We only wanted to ride the mountain coaster and there isn't an option for just the coaster or similar listed on the website or ticket desk. But when we asked we were able to buy a ticket that included general admission and 3 coaster rides. It was $75. Comparatively the Revelstoke and other coasters are about $40. But if you want the whole nature amusement park experience the adventure package is probably worth the price. Unfortunately due to a back injury the rope course, zip lines, and axe throwing weren't feasible.
If you have impaired mobility or require mobility aids this isn't the best attraction. All of the attractions are active participation and are not very accessible if at all. Pursuit has a ton of other attractions that are though.
The mountain coaster was super fun, very safe, and worth the wait. But after you first ride you need to line up again to redeem your second and third rides. Each time we lined up it was 20+ mins on a super hot day. The staff were very friendly and helpful though.
The Skybridges were fun and the staff made sure people were being safe and not horsing around or ruining the experience for other guests. A guy was trying to make the bridge bounce and a staff member immediately stopped him.
This isn't a good attraction for very young kids or babies as the coaster can't accommodate guests under four but older children can sit with you on the ride. Be aware each child under 16 needs an adult with them to ride. There were some guests on the coaster who were scared or just ran their cart so slow it really backed up the ride and ruined the experience for everyone else behind them. We just watched it occur but thankfully got to go as fast as possible on our turns.
Even if you have a family of very young and older kids it's definitely worth a visit. There's a nice playground for the really little kids and shady places to sit and eat. Definitely a great place to visit with kids because there's so much to do. If you're just going for the coaster consider Revelstoke. But if you want all the extras like the zipones and huge swing then it's worth it.
I enjoyed the experience but I can't say I'd go again at the same price. Banana...
Read moreOur experience here was overall pleasant and most enjoyable. The only complaint would be that wait times were extremely long for the high ropes, coaster, and zip line. The high ropes has wait times shown in the line up but the zip line and coaster should also have this. When I called the ticket office it was suggested to spend three hours here to take it all in. This easily could’ve been 8 hours due to very long wait times and if we had that much time, I’d happily have spent it here. It sounded like there has been some scheduling management issues which could have helped to keep the zip line and coaster lineups moving at a realistic pace. Also, single riders should NOT be punished when waiting for the zip line. One lady waited approx 45 min and would’ve been slightly faster had she waited as a single in the group line up! Staff should always be filling zip lines to max of 4 when lineups are so long. IMHO, there should have been two staff working the top of the zip line to keep the experience moving at an appropriate pace. High ropes staff could be watching the course better supporting people along and if they’re not ready for the blue course don’t let them move along. Keeps things moving. We may have spent more time enjoying more of the park; however, we needed to get on the road. We spend 5.5 hours at the park completing one bridge, two sections of the high ropes, the coaster and the zip line. In this timeframe we had no time to try the ax throwing or rock climbing or just embrace the views. It should be clearer with respect to pricing. People who purchase the Adventure pass should be allowed to complete the ENTIRE ropes course, not be limited to two sections. It wasn’t a concern of ours but it should also be clearer wherever pricing is noted that you receive ONLY 1 zip line, 1 coaster, 1 time on the ropes course if you’re an Adventurer. Some people waited quite some time in line to find out they needed to purchase an add-on to ride again. Lastly, the washrooms by the high ropes course could’ve been cleaner. One of the sinks had no running water. With over 130 staff employed and better scheduling, I believe realistic wait times and a top notch experience will be achieved. My experience here is related to my experiences in Revelstoke at their high ropes/zip line course.
Overall, glad we were able to visit! Very enjoyable experiences and my daughter and I had the most fun on the high ropes course just wished we could have the opportunity to complete...
Read moreMy son-in-law, daughter, granddaughter and I had a marvellous time at Golden Skybridge! I couldn't help thinking about the vision that the developers/engineers had when staking out this canyon! Like just WOW and kudos to you all! Very impressive!!
We bought our Adventure passes and Canyon swing tickets on line about a week before arriving.
We did axe throwing first which got rid of some anxiety. Then my granddaughter and I did the Canyon Swing. I did it to get out of my comfort zone, and it was WAY out of my comfort zone. My daughter and son-in-law went after us. Shout out to employee Pierce as I may not have been able to do it without his encouragement. Ryan (I think) was also amazing. These two gentlemen are gems!
We then did the upper skybridge and the mountain coaster. Both were scary and exciting!
Then my family gave me their backpacks and they did the zip line. I decided to give it a miss as I felt I had had more than enough adrenalin pumping activities for one day. They came back to me over the upper skybridge and we all took the lower skybridge (still super high to me!) back to the other side of the canyon where we were parked.
The next morning I decided I really should do the zip line so my daughter dropped me off there. I bought a ticket for axe-throwing and the zip line. The ticket manager there kindly only charged my $22 since I hadn't used my zip line ticket the day before.
At this point I talked to a fabulous staff member, Marie-Eve Bernard who gave me lots of info on Kicking Horse Mountain Resort where my family went later that very morning.
I did the axe throwing with a young man and his younger sister. I got a bulls eye and he kindly took a picture since I didn't have my phone on me (due to fears of dropping it on the zip line). He and his sister were heading to the zip line and said I could go with them. The girl was very encouraging as we crossed the upper skybridge which was still quite scary to me, even the second time over it.
We got ready for the zip line together but they went a minute or so before I did as I chickened out and waited a bit, trying to scare up my courage. It was just a 20 second zip line but very scary and exciting.
I am so glad I read about Golden and it's attractions last fall and told my daughter we should go in the summer of 2024. We all thoroughly enjoyed this experience!...
