Mixed review for this winery. We dropped by on the spur of the moment based on google reviews. The hostess sat us down gave us a wine tasting menu but left it to us to read and figure out the $5 tasting was not deducted if you bought a bottle. She didnât ask if we wanted one or two but just assumed 2 tastings and started pouring the wine. Very perfunctory recounting of each of the wines we tasted, basically reciting what was on the menu. No mention of how the wine was made. We bought a bottle of Pinot Gris which we quite liked and when I saw she charged us for 2 tastings I asked why they didnât take off the cost of one for the bottle we bought. She replied every winery is doing that now. Which is just not true and left a bad taste in my mouth as we have been to many wineries in the Okanagan in the past week and this was the only one that charged us when we bought a bottle.
Response- We donât need a refund but appreciate the offer...
Read moreRude, rude, so rude! We used to purchase wine from Lakeside every time we came to Osoyoos. Once or twice a year. We also looked for the wine in the stores. Last time we bought about 12 bottles, this time I was thinking 7-8. We weren't even allowed insude. The open sign was down below and the schedule 11 to 5. A quarter to 5 pm they quickly came to the door stating that it's 10 to 5 and they only allow tasting until 4:30pm. We couldn't buy wine either. People were on the patio sipping wine. I'm guessing the three ladies "working" there were set on leaving the premises at 5 sharp. Not sure if they have any take in the business, other than being employed there, but I can tell you that I will no longer purchase wine from Lakeside. I will avoid it in the stores as well as ever try to get to the wine tasting location again. We made great efforts to catch it open today....
Read moreI had a good time here on Saturday, and it was my first time in Osoyoos, so I focused on enjoying myself. The place is beautiful, but the service here was terrible. The woman (If I might remember her name was Angela) who served us seemed to be in a hurry, her behavior wasn't the best, and we realized she was simply being racist; it was obvious that she didn't want us there. We told her that some friends were coming soon and that we wanted the table next to us, to which she responded with a resounding NO, THAT'S NOT ALLOWED. Oh, surprise, MY FRIENDS, CANADIANS, arrived, and they were able to sit at the table that she told me was NOT ALLOWED. She also told us that she didn't want us to be there because everyone was looking at us (Of course nobody was looking at us LOL) and we made her feel uncomfortable. We were just enjoying time there with friends and having...
