I honestly really really want to like this place more but they need some changes. I could tell who the owner of the establishment was the first time i walked in and thats always a good sign. But the staff keeps making rash decisions for the kitchen or for the owner for slight custimizations to their food and instead of being accomodating they are stripping away parts of the meal entirely instead of charging for a bun or something similar. Almost losing business entirely because we didny want 2 peices of beef stacked and wanted singles? We almost walked away.. and the shitty part is that the owner would of made sure we were good... Or instead they say they can "try to make the egg medium hard" instead of making sure they are able to before we make a mutual agreement through money.. And then completley undelivering on it. Served a hard egg. Their is such a thing as an in between. Where the yolk is half hard half soft and i am able to cook it like that every time myself.
Last time the owner took my order directly their was no issue with an medium hard egg and it was delivered way better. This time was completley hard.
I respect the owners decisions and the owners menu as a whole including the quality of the ingredients he approves or chooses. Clearly the staff need some changing and even the chefs could use some work to be honest.
But once again nobody can be as respectful, as the owner it seems.
Seems like their is an influx of employees from april, since ive been here probably hiring due to the season. But they arent the ones that should be making these decisions.
Thank you to the owner for his high standards. But unfortunatley they are higher...

It does not matter how the food tastes or how the service is, this restaurant does not allow patrons to use the washroom. I was instructed to go a block away and use the public park facility. I recently relocated to this area and have no idea where that is. In BC, the Food Premises Regulation requires that food premises providing seating for dining must have washroom facilities available for patrons. Specifically, Section 5 of the regulation states that if food premises provide seating for dining purposes and are not subject to building bylaws under the Local Government Act, the operator must ensure that washroom facilities are provided for the use of dining patrons in accordance with the BC Building Code Regulation (B.C. Reg. 216/2006). This means that a restaurant is legally required to provide access to washroom facilities if it has seating for diners. If a restaurant does not comply with this regulation, it may be violating health and safety laws. It was uncomfortable being denied a basic necessity when I had a clear line of sight to the unused washroom, especially after waiting a long time to order my food at the understaffed counter, waiting for it to arrive at my table, and dining in. I will not be...
Read moreI don’t typically write reviews because life is just too busy , and who am I to judge , but after today I felt I need to share .
Have been in town for the last couple of days, and we are very pleased to have found this little hidden gem. We visited a few times during our stay, and one thing which stood out for our party ( of four ) and I was the genuine care staff put into every transaction . On our way home today we stoped in for one last breakfast sandwich and witnessed a group of four ( two adults , two children ) verbally attacking the kind staff who was trying to resolve a complaint . I am not sure of the details , but this customer felt justified in being rude and abusive because they paid for something. This is a local business, and based on the sign outside ( stating to expect longer waits in busier times since it’s their first summer in operation and adjusting , but doing their best ). Kindness goes a long way. If there is an issue , please allow them to correct it . We want to support local business to grow because they live in the community that they serve . These are genuine good people , trying their best ( witnessed it every time we visited ). These staff person looked shaken up , and I don’t blame her . Being yelled at over a coffee can be dehumanizing . Barn Owl, keep doing what you’re doing . We see you and...
