Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park — Attraction in British Columbia

a great place to visit and to learn about the Secwepemc people. I especially like the pit houses outside. there is a lot of information about plants, animals, traditions, culture... and so much more. the guides are passionate about the content and open to all questions. I have been a few times now and each time I take away something new. each guide has different stories so it is never the same tour which is wonderful. Second day of Kamloopa pow-wow! Totally awesome, as usual. Well-run with organized parking, security, first aid, golf cart shuttles from parking to the arbor, concession food areas, and a variety of great vendors. The noon grand entry was huge, with the entire arbor filled by eye-dazzling dancers of all ages. Seeing the tiny tots take the grass to dance their hearts out gives one hope for the future. This museum is definitely worth the visit and the time to take in all that it has to offer. There is lots of information to read on the history of the people and the residential school. I could have used more information on some of the artifacts in the main museum, as well as some parts of the outdoor village.
