Clappison Woods is a serene and beautiful natural escape located just outside of Hamilton, perfect for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a peaceful outdoor experience. The trails through the woods are well-maintained and offer a variety of routes for both casual walkers and avid hikers. The mix of wooded areas, meadows, and streams creates a diverse and picturesque environment, ideal for observing local wildlife and enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature.

The park is home to a range of native plants and animals, and it’s not uncommon to spot birds, squirrels, and even the occasional deer while exploring the trails. Whether you’re looking to connect with nature, take in some fresh air, or enjoy a peaceful walk away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, Clappison Woods provides a perfect setting.

One of the highlights of Clappison Woods is its accessibility. The trails are easy to navigate, with options for both shorter walks and longer hikes. The natural beauty of the area is complemented by benches and resting spots, making it easy to pause, relax, and soak in the surroundings.

For those looking for a quiet and tranquil retreat, Clappison Woods is a hidden gem. It’s a great spot for photography, meditation, or simply unwinding in nature. With its scenic trails and peaceful atmosphere, Clappison Woods is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Ontario’s natural landscape. Highly recommended for nature lovers and anyone in need of a little...

My family and I recently embarked on a delightful hiking adventure along the Clappison Woods trails. It was a fantastic experience overall, but there were a couple of unexpected downsides.

The trail was perfect for a family outing, especially with our four-legged companion in tow. The path was easy to navigate, making it suitable for kids and dog friends alike. The picturesque surroundings and lush greenery added to the charm, providing a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

However, one aspect that caught us off guard was the presence of pesky fly bites. While we thoroughly enjoyed our hike, the unfortunate aftermath of dealing with these bites upon returning home was far from pleasant. It would be wise for future visitors to come prepared with insect repellent to avoid a similar experience.

On a brighter note, the highlight of the hike was undoubtedly the moment we crossed the train tracks halfway through our journey. The kids were absolutely thrilled by this unexpected adventure, and it added an extra layer of excitement to our day.

In conclusion, Clappison Woods offers a lovely hiking experience for families and dog enthusiasts alike. The easy trails and scenic beauty are sure to captivate your senses and provide a memorable outing. Just be sure to come equipped to fend off those persistent flies and consider the trail a great opportunity for some impromptu railway exploration...

We were here to mountain bike. There are a lot of trails, but there are no signs. The trails are a mix of green, blue, black, and double black so you have to be careful. I highly recommend using the Trail Forks app to make sure you don't get lost. Enter from Rockcliffe to ease yourself into the trails.(Park at Wal-Mart and ride the 1500 mile to Rockcliffe or hope to get one of the four parking spots at the trailhead). There are some really nice trails south of the...

What a wonderful area for hiking. So quiet and peaceful that birdsong is easy to hear all around. Our hike with our dog was so relaxing. Lots of native flowers are putting on a show in this last week of May. Jack-in-the-pulpit was very common. Some Mayapple, ferns, and Solomon's seal were all found along the trails. There are parking lots for the woods, but there are also access points behind the Flamborough South Centre shopping plaza and from Grindstone Way.
