Trapped Burnaby - Disappointing Start but Fun Game Experience We booked the Dollhouse room at Trapped Burnaby, which is one of their most popular rooms, for a friend's birthday. Unfortunately, we were notified just two hours before our booking that the room was broken and under maintenance. We were offered two options: either we could reschedule for a later date with a discount, or choose one of two available rooms. As we had specifically planned this outing for the Dollhouse experience, we were understandably frustrated and disappointed. Itās one thing to be told last-minute about a problem, but it felt like poor customer service to not offer us a discount for playing the same night. We still went ahead with the other room, but honestly, we felt let down by the lack of effort to accommodate us in a more meaningful way. However, once we entered the room we chose, our disappointment melted away, at least for a bit. The game itself was fun and engaging, and we ended up having a good time. The puzzles were clever, and the atmosphere was well done. But the initial hiccup definitely lingered in the back of our minds, especially considering the room had been one of the main reasons we chose Trapped Burnaby for this special occasion. Overall, the experience was fun, but the lack of adequate compensation or any real effort to make up for the inconvenience was frustrating. While the room was good, I can't ignore the fact that we were expecting more after the mishap. Iād still recommend the placeāespecially if you're not caught up on a particular roomābut I think they could handle customer service better when things go wrong. 4 stars, but it could have been 5 with better communication and...

I came in with a group of 10 on a Monday night and Gwen was extremely friendly and accommodating. They explained the rules thoroughly and got us in in a timely matter.
We did The Noir and it honestly had some of the strongest theming and craftsmanship I've seen yet in an escape room. The puzzles and decor were perfectly synced to the theme; not a single puzzle was out of character and almost all entirely automated (except for one combination padlock). Puzzles revealed themselves in very satisfying ways and it was genius that puzzle pieces would specifically draw attention/light up so we knew when they came into play.
I have just a couple of minor gripes: the room was missing a timer which would've helped us a lot, and the room's normal lights were on when we entered so it broke the immersion ever so slightly. I also noticed some AI art being used for promos and photos in the room which personally left a sour taste in my mouth.
I can also see a potential issue with a language barrier, as there are many puzzles that rely on being able to listen to and read English so just a heads up. However, none of these things are worth a star off as they didn't directly impede our experience.
Bottom line, I've been to about a dozen escape rooms and this one left us feeling very satisfied. Itās very well executed and we're very excited to return and play the rest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUnfortunately the worst experience at an escape room I've ever had. I do many escape rooms all around Canada, and I had my expectations high, based on what people told me about this place.
It started right when we walked through the door, nobody was at the front to help us and we had to wander around to find someone to help us.
We did "The Noir", which on the website says it is a 90 minute room, we were kicked out at 8:30, and started at 7:20. They proceeded to say we did not finish most of the room, which is obvious considered we did not get the time we payed for.
Whenever we asked for a hint, we got a response that was not only delayed, but also inaccurate to the puzzle, or was information we already knew. We could have made it so much further if we got help when we needed it. Staff is not attentive at all, I feel like nobody was watching our experience
We needed a member of staff to help us with the first puzzle, after we could not figure it out for 10-20 minutes. It was not properly explained as to how to work the item in the room, even the trainee did not understand.
Overall, I was left utterly disappointed, and felt I wasted my time, and money. I understand the girl "running" our room was training, but we do not deserve to be ounished for it. Given 60 mins for a 90 min room, and they let us waste our time while giving...
