Would give this store a zero rating. I dropped in with my reusable bag to grab soap, toothpaste, deodorant and while there I grabbed a dress and shorts for my daughter (age 11). I was wearing a t-shirt ( no jacket), fitted jeans with my wallet and phone in the back pocket. You might be wondering why I am being so specific.....well this is to paint a picture that I did not have a backpack, purse, shawl, sweater, or jacket with me. While I was walking to the register with my items in my one reusable bag I was loudly yelled at by a tall, slender built person, wearing plastic see-through gloves, a black hoodie, with short black hair. I later learned that this person was undercover security and their name. The person yelled "do you need help". I responded "no" the person came towards me and said " yes you do, you need a cart, you can't use your reusable bag". One since when is using a reusable wrong (no signage no policy prohibiting this) and two I was walking to the register. I responded " I don't need a cart I'm going to check out" (this was in eyeline of the register). The person then said something like "oh yeah then keep walk" while ushering me to the front of the store. She then proceeded to stare at me and follow me to checkout. Upon reaching the register the person stood in close proximity and watched me. I asked the check out clerk who the person watching me was as this whole thing made me extremely uncomfortable. The clerk stated that the person staring was security. I asked the clerk to call the manager and then I turned to the security person and asked her if she would like to check my pockets and double check my bag ensuring that it was empty. Her response was something like "you keep doing what your doing". The main issue is that this person was rude, abrasive, unapologetic for her miss read of the situation, and never identified herself as security or why she was engaging with me in the first place. The public humiliation was not only uncalled for and unacceptable but will have a lasting effect on my mental health. After paying I spoke to the manager who like the clerk was kind and understanding. Unfortunately, theft is an issue at the store but this is no excuse for rude, abrasive, intimidating and insulting behaviour. The real unfortunate part of the story is that I am a person with anxiety. This situation left me shaking while I was in the store and having an anxiety attack in the parking lot after. While this person will likely go on to work in this store behaving like this towards others, I will be suffering the consequences of this interaction for months to come. Not only will I never return to this Walmart location (even though it is the closest to my home), I will likely struggle with anxiety everytime I will need to go into any store period. If shopping at this Walmart be aware this kind of interaction happened, hopefully this review will help someone else avoid the humiliation and anxiety I have had to suffer...
Read moreI am so disappointed with the way some of the metrotown staff handled our online delivery order. This is a long story. I want to make sure i dont leave anything out.
Ordered delivery for Sept 25 between 8-9pm. Normally it keeps us updated but this time it didn't. So I called the store at 830 to confirm they have the order and what the status was. Aman, who works for the online department said it was on the way. 9pm comes, no delivery, no emails or updates. I call the store. Both times they transfered me and no one picked up and it was automatically hangs up. So my husband decided to go in store. I call again, takes forever for someone to answer and when they did, I was told Aman was on break. No one there was able to help me. Within a few minutes my husband arrives in store and asks to speak to a manager. While waiting the employees there were able to tell him it was picked up at 7pm. We have meat and diary products. Like where was this driver?! It took 20 minutes for the manager, Gurjeet, to arrive and by his posture, you could tell he was ready to argue. He stood infront of my husband with his arms crossed and didn't look impressed (the other staff were empathic to not being able to help us). So they've tried calling the driver multiple times, to no answer.
At this time I'm at home checking the tracking which now says it's delayed but on the way. I was able to see the car still at the store and the drivers name and car make. So called I called the 1800 customer service number. They couldnt really help me either, as they tried calling the store to to get an update. They were able to tell me that it was picked up at 7pm. I complained saying it is now 2.5 hrs and I have cold items, and no one can tell.me where it is.
My husband texts me saying the manager is telling him the order is from a location in New West. I asked the agent on the phone to give the store number of where the order was placed. He checked and said it was store 1213, Metrotown. So relayed that info on my husband, who then told the manager. And the manager argued saying it was not from their store. We ended up getting a refund (which now i checked and they shorted us $20).
Now i will be calling the online department, sending an email to head office and also contacting Door Dash about this. This was a $300 shop and now the food is missing and no one knows what's happened.
Walmart needs to figure out what's going on. We deserve an answer, an apology, our shorted $20. There were also 2 other door dash drivers there waiting over 20 minutes and another customer who came to pick up his order who was also waiting 20 min. They couldnt figure out what was going on. This is absolutely ridiculous!...

I previously rated this shop 5 stars, because it has a verity of items, however, this edit comes after a recent experience.
I was paying for my groceries when Mr. Imtiaz the cashier offered me a reward card, which I refused. He then added that if I sign up for a reward card they can sign off $15 from my bill. I Said okay go ahead (good offer!!) When he was finished I offered payment for the balance, however, Mr. Imtiaz said they will deduct the amount from the credit card! I said what?? He said it is a reward card and a credit card ! I said I haven't signed up for that and asked him to cancel it! He said I have to wait until I get the card, pay my balance and then tell them to cancel it! I said I don't want any credit card and I don't want to receive it, because there will be a hard credit inquiry from Walmart on my account and I don't want that! He said cancellation is impossible at this stage. I left without any further discussion.
I called the Walmart credit section, they said there is a balance and you have to wait for the card and then cancel it. Otherwise, cancellation is impossible.
I then went back to the store and asked the manger if he can help with the cancellation. Manager repeated the same story but added he will call the customer support and see if there is any solution.
The customer care said that I can pay at store, and then request for the credit card application to be cancelled. I spent the next 60 minutes inside the store and 5 persons went back and forth to cancel the transaction but everyone simply vanished before finishing the job.
I then called the Walmart credit section and provided them with the updated information, and told them to talk to the store manager but she simply said she can not wait for the store manager because it is against the Walmart policy. The store manager was no where to be found.
I was there for 120 minutes already, when finally a young lady showed up, who was quite different from all other persons in the store; she was sharp, smart and willing to help. I still appreciate her efforts.
In 20 minutes, she cancelled my transaction, called the Walmart credit section, cancelled the application and told me everything is finished, no need to follow up with anyone.
In another ridiculous move, the store manager offered a $30 deduction for the trouble, however, when I was paying for the amount no body had any information on what has happened, so the young lady offered a $10 deduction out of no where, which I said please let me go and I don't want to repeat what I have been offered, just finish so I can leave
It took me 150+ minutes to get out of that store, exhausted, frustrated, feeling cheated, and my...
