Calgary Public Library - Giuffre Family branch — Attraction in Calgary

For as long as I can remember I kept being promised for particular books available and I show up to realizing it’s not. I called yesterday to check if the handmaid’s tale book is available which I doubted but the gentleman on the phone told me it’s available at signal hill’s location. I went to pick it up now and staff told me theres 43 holds on it and it’s not available. So clearly the gentleman never checked. Signal hill’s staff directed me to call back giuffre library and talk to them and complain. The lady on the phone answered with “so what can I do for you” on my complaint (shift of January 15th Thursday 6:15 pm). Then she advised for next time check yourself on the website and correct next time don’t depend on us. I’m devastated, hire people that know how to speak and to check the website instead of promising something they can’t afford. I needed this book asap for a university project. This is an amazing place as I love reading. It's a great library and a perfect place for kids as well to learn and explore books and stories.

There is a special spot for children here and this is an additional feature to make it a family place.

There are printers and great tables which are prepared with plugs to charge your phones.

Masks are required right now in libraries, so you should wear it once you step inside.

The staff here is so kind and polite. They answer all your questions with a smile, and they help you whenever any kind of assistance is needed.
