We recently celebrated my parents' 80th joint birthday party at Aroma, and it was an unforgettable experience. The restaurant truly made this special occasion extraordinary with its exceptional service, delicious cuisine, and warm atmosphere.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who went out of their way to ensure every detail was perfect. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, with elegant decor that reflects a modern Canadian feel. The cozy yet sophisticated setting provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration.
Instead of a traditional menu, there was a set buffet, which was nothing short of amazing. The buffet featured an impressive array of dishes, with the tacos being a standout. Each taco was expertly crafted with fresh ingredients, offering a variety of fillings that delighted all our guests. The flavors were vibrant and authentic, making the buffet a highlight of the evening.
What truly set Aroma apart was the outstanding service. The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring that our large group was comfortable and had everything we needed. They even surprised my parents with a special dessert platter and a heartfelt birthday serenade, which added a personal touch to the celebration.
Overall, Aroma exceeded all our expectations. The combination of delicious food, beautiful ambiance, and exceptional service made my parents' 80th birthday party a joyous and memorable event. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion – they truly know how to make their guests feel celebrated...
Read moreI would’ve given it 5 stars because the food we ate were good, avocados were so fresh, pastries were a delight and it’s a small business and they deserve to be supported.
However, below are the reasons for rating:
Called in the morning to check if we need to make a reservation and was told no. I asked if it gets busy around 1-1:30 and got an unclear response so I said kindly reserve a table for 3 people just to make sure. The man took my name and said that they will be expecting us. Called around 12:30 to confirm reservation and pre order some food to start with. A lady took our order and said it’ll be ready for when we get there. Got there, no table, no food. After about 5 minutes of wait, was told to grab any table and chairs and pull them together. And that our food will be ready in 10-15 minutes.
Upon ordering our main meals, was told that there’s no beef and salsa. Reason: “owners just got back from Cancun.” My mind was spinning.
Service was slow and drinking water supply was scarce. We had to run to our car and get our own water.
We tried the place because of the 5-star reviews but we’re disappointed. We were on a time crunch and made sure our orders our table sat and...
Read moreWe just moved to Calgary this week and discovered the little gem, Aroma café in the Marda Loop neighbourhood. We picked up great Americano and Latté coffees all week and knew we wanted to try the authentic mexican offerings. We decided to do take out lunch and wanted to tey the burritos but they were sold out so we settled for the taco combo. 3 tacos for $12. The taco combo was a great choice. We each had 3 tacos and between the 3 of us tried: beef, pork, vegetable and the Al Pasteur. Very authentic tortillas and fresh fillings, even topped with fresh cilantro, and a cup of their special sauce for the Al pasteur ones. All were delicious but our favourites were the beef and the Al Pasteur ( a marinated shredded beef, which I didn't have but will definitely have the next time we order). The café has friendly staff and each order is made fresh while you wait. We are totally looking forward to trying the burritos and other dishes they offer. You can even get desserts and imported from Mexico drinks to go with your meal. They even sell spices and sauces from Mexico. A great little spot in Marda Loop to enjoy delicious, authentic Mexican specialties. Looking forward to trying more of...
