Soo much fun! Come out Mondays to join Karaoke 🎤 night at the trop! It was soo much fun.

Went with friends to see live music. GenX & GenY this band is our generation of music. There wasn't a song that you would not know to bring back nostalgic memories of the good old days!! 😄 totally worth going out to see them.

I had my Favourite pizza at the Trop. Soo yummy. I get it every time now.

The trop is always great place to see live music or on regular weekdays a fun place to grab a bite to eat with friends or by yourself too. Il'l be back! 😄

🍺 New owner, new staff, new look (lights). Live band playing was amazing as always. Service good, food was good. This place had a really lively atmosphere! 😁 I always have a great time when going to the trop. It's definitely worth trying out if you haven't already! 🍻 😄

Another great night at the trop. Lots of fun with friends and the friendly staff. Alot of new staff members, but thankfully, I saw some of my favorite original staff members. Took more food pictures! Gradually trying new food items to share.

It's Sunday! Ashleigh & Sidney rock it as always. 😃 Great service and a pleasure to talk to. 🍹 Drinks are always full, and the food at the trop is always soooo yummy! I have yet to not like anything & im a picky eater. To eat, I had wontons🥟. Forgot to take a pic. Food was made to perfection. Thank you, Trop cooks. 🙏🏽. Finchy & the band played tonight for a nice cool jam! Beautiful voice. Loved the music. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful Sunday night. Thank you Ashleigh & Sidney & the Trop. 💚

February 4, 2023 🍷Yet another amazing experience at the trop. Food as always tasted great and prepared to perfection. 😁 Friendly staff and beyond excellent service. I would strongly suggest going to this bar for a nice drink & bite to eat any day of the week or let loose and come out to see a live band play on the weekends like Curious Geroge. The atmosphere is always filled with fun, happy vibes. The waitresses, Ashleigh, Jill, Sidney, Paige, and crew are just EXCEPTIONAL!!!! 💗 I tell everyone to come out to this bar. I had no idea what to expect when going here. They were on a list of best wing places in Calgary, so I thought I would give The Trop a try. Honestly, the full experience of the evening left me feeling disappointed.

I went out for a beer and a bite to eat withy friend, so we weren't looking for anything fancy. We frequent casual places when we go out because we get tired of all the pretentiousness out there. Yet, we still expect the beers to be decent and the food to be good.

The beer at The Trop is anything but decent. The draft selection is an odd assortment that seems to want to straddle the line of being craft without being too flavorful. Unfortunately, one of the beers I had was flavorful in a bad way; as in it had an off flavor of either being really old or the draft line needs cleaning. It was a tough one to finish.

The food was decent. We went for wings and also decided to split a couple of sandwiches and another appetizer so we could get a judge on the food. Interestingly enough, the wings were the worst thing out of it all. They were small and didn't have a lot to offer, in terms of flavor. Everything else was solid.

Lastly, the atmosphere can only be described as a dive. The place wasn't clean, you can occassionally get a whiff of an odd smell, and the service staff is a bit too casual. It is a shame because The Trop could be much nicer with a bit of polish. Instead, they should think about renaming it to The Flop because that is what happens to one's emotional well being after the shattering of...

We came tonight for the Playground Zone 30th anniversary show. We came a couple hours early to have supper.

This was our first time here (we will definitely be back to reevaluate).

We ordered four apples - the dry ribs, the nachos, the avocado toast and the steak bites.

The dry ribs were well rendered and flavoured. Just as described in the menu.

The steak bites were phenomenal. I think the garlic bread is an unnecessary addition to the plate.

The avocado toast did not interest me but my wife loved it and ate the whole thing. An eclectic group of ingredients and great marks for the presentation!

The nachos were a disappointment however. The description said pico de gallo however they came with shredded cheese and an odd extra - black beans and black olives. These were not referenced in the menu otherwise I would have asked for no olives.

Now we came on a very busy night - we arrived at 7:45 and finished our first round by 8:30. However we didn't get offered a second round until 9:15.

That said it is absolutely busy here and we appreciate the staff's efforts to accommodate.

I promise to update this review on the next visit - hopefully on a normal night so the staff can shine! I want to be authentic if I choose to give a 5 star rating.
