Very popular location in South East Calgary, houses YMCA, daycare and Calgary Public Library beside a small coffee shop. YMCA here has an Olympic size swimming pool and few splash, small pools for professional and recreation programs. It has facilities FOR indoor ICE hockey, rooms that can be booked for yoga, martal art, etc. You won't feel trapped in a complex as it's very airy and open yet inddor. Best of all they have an actual helicopter in the library :)

I visited this branch on a Thursday from around 3-5pm. The facility is shiny and new and clean. I had no problem finding a quiet corner to sit and read. A few families and groups of students came and went while I was there, and while I definitely heard them, they weren’t the intolerable disruption that others have complained of. Overall, it’s a lovely library.

I loved it, its an amazing library to visit and even better for toddlers/children to play in. So many books and play area for little ones to explore! For the ppl who complain about kids being loud or that they shouldnt be in the library: Its 2019, grow up and find yourself a quiet place, or go home.

I find the library amazing, spacious, and supposedly a great place to stay for its purpose. I drive all the way from the middle of the City because I thought it's the BEST one. But being there for couple of visits nothing changed for the better and I think with my observation from my visits it is actually getting worse. Not only with the reviews that I have read about kids but also with teens. I have to read others comment first bec. I don't want to say anything that i thought i was the only one who have experienced such behaviors inside a library. As i have read along the replies to one of the comments code of ethics mentioned. Just a question, why removed shoes was taken with attention when there are always group of teens hanging around doing nothing, turns the computer cubicles around, sitting with their feet with shoes all the way up of the seats, laughing, chatting, throwing chips/popcorn in the air to their mouth which falls to the carpet was not and is not notified of the the libraries code of ethics are. I go to different library location and signs of silence are posted if that helps remind the goers. I think the staff should make these teens/goers understand where the boundaries of hang outs and what library is for. Sorry if u should use the words "Set Rules" for a better library place so everybody would enjoy coming back. There are lot of recreation areas out of the library where they can spend their time. Actually it is more quiet outside than inside not to mention. Pls. don't take my opinions negatively. It's for the good...

I had an unfortunate experience at the Seaton Public Library recently. I don’t typically leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share due to the way I was treated, which I believe was both unfair and unprofessional.

As I was leaving the library to pick up my son, I noticed Kindergarten book packages on carts near the customer service area. Since my son is 4 years old (turning 5 in December) and will be starting Junior Kindergarten in the 2025–2026 school year, I thought one of the packages would be perfect for him.

I approached the staff to inquire about checking out a package and explained my son’s age and his upcoming school year. I was told that the program was “only for Kindergarten.” When I mentioned “Junior Kindergarten,” the staff member seemed unfamiliar with the term and denied access. She then went to consult her supervisor, leaving me waiting without any further explanation or resolution.

The entire interaction left me feeling dismissed and unwelcome. It was disheartening to encounter a lack of awareness about something as basic as early childhood education, especially in a public library, which should be a supportive resource for families and young children. What surprised me most was that no one made an effort to look up the term on google or seek more information on their system. The response felt rigid and unprofessional.

Sincerely hope that the library staff can become better informed and more understanding in future interactions. Public libraries should be inclusive, welcoming, and...

I like the location and staff is very polite and helpful, but I have to express my disappointment about printing service this library provided. I tired to load my document at home as I always did, but this time it was real hassle.Website did not work for printing and I decided to go to the library and I brought my documents on flash card. When I came I realized that documents in Word is can not be printed from flash card, they should be in PDF. That something new, before it was not like that. Ok, I borrowed laptop there and tried to load my documents to print queue, website surprisly opened there, I sent docs to print and then went to printer and it showed that there are not documents to print. The lady who is working there told me that sometimes it takes 30 minutes to wait. 30 minutes!!! Seriously! After some time one documents came up and I printed, it came up without last line of the document. The second one was in colour, so I had to convert it to PDF, unfortunately it was not possible on their laptop. I spend 55 minutes to do 5 minutes job and ended up only with one printed document and find another place to print second document, Very very disappointed! Time to IT team to do...
