My friends were customers from this restaurant; last night for the second time I came to joint them. First, I heard several disappointments from them about Lyndsey the waitress, like bringing warm soda, taking their food, catsup and hot salsa away while eating; my friend’s kid didn’t get his soda and desert, so when hearing this situation, I asked the waitress Lyndsey (blond-short hair) while ordering my chicken wings. So she never brought the kid’s soda and his desert, it was someone else, “after I got my chicken wings, which it was more than 20 o 25 minutes I ordered” the child got his soda and his desert as part of his kid’s meal from another waitress, finally after more than 1 hour they were there. The waitress Lyndsey completely ignored my friend’s requests and mine, very arrogant; and when we passed on the complaint to Emily the manager, Emily was more concerned about we were having the bottle Tabasco salsa on our table, because we needed to pay extra $1.50 for a small container, of course, with arrogant body language and tone of voice, than the actual issue about her staff. Then, after when Emily brought “the salsa Tabasco in a container”, it wasn’t Tabasco, it was a mixed with something else, because it was different texture, colour and flavour, my friend told her that if we were going to pay, better to be what we are asking for; Emily assured several times it was Tabasco…. Then, after she came back saying that it wasn’t, and brought the “real salsa Tabasco”. This place serves with pride to be rude, no respect and with discriminatory behaviour. Meanwhile, the waitress was showing by providing more conversational attentions and smilie face on her other clients than we could expect better persona and service over our table. I would bring a concern about this matter of rudeness to the owner of this restaurant about their staff, and of course for clients to be aware of the kind of service you could expect to have with your family or friends, the value of your time with your loved ones and your money…… We won’t come back here. Regards, Veronica...
Read moreWe are new to the area and have heard good things about tommyfields, so we decided to give it a try. First impression of the place walking in is a cool and stylized pub, with a very modern and fun feel to the environment. The place was really quite busy for a Thursday night, which is always good to see for any type of restaurant! That being said tables were perhaps placed a little tight to each other, as I was often times more so aware of the table beside ours conversation than the ones being held at my own table. Other than being a bit loud, nothing really stood out. Things are perhaps better suited for a large group of people to enjoy, over smaller groups of people.
We ordered a few different things to try! Most of what we had was tasty. However we did not end up receiving any of our appetizers, which was rather unfortunate. As well it should be noted that our sides were significantly over salted. All that being said for the most part what we tried tasted quite good. On the other hand however, for the amount that things cost the portions were a lot smaller than to be expected. You can definitely get more bang for your buck elsewhere.
As for the service itself, things felt someone sluggish. As mentioned before it was rather busy so it can be expected that things wont run the fastest. Our server did feel somewhat inattentive, and a little detached. We were visited by a second server as well, and she seemed a little more engaged, but still not really what you would expect from a pub experience.
Overall I cant say I would really recommend Tommyfields. For the price point there are better options out there. I would be interested in trying again, on a slightly less busy day where service can afford a more personal experience. The specials do seem well priced and as I mentioned the food was generally good. Overall if you are looking to go out and drink with friends this very well may be the place youre looking for, however if you are out for dinner and a drink you may be best to look elsewhere.
Fingers crossed...
Read moreUpdate July 2025: Had guests in town that wanted to come here, sat in nearly empty second floor for a late dinner about 830p. Service was extremely slow. Server was okay, just did the minimum required in my opinion. Restaurant was very loud considering the lack of people. The bar tender also let some people get roudy without putting them in check. I have raised my review to 3 stars for food from the 1 previous. The cheese burger was very good, besides the fact it was very messy and a little greasy. Still too expensive for what you get.
Update June 12, 2024: Have been here about half a dozen times since my first review. Food has been relatively good over those few times and service was nothing to write home about.
Came here for wing night and was June 12th and everything was terrible. I dont expect perfect wings on wing night, but these things were dry as a bone and many wings were messed up like the 5 cent days 15 years ago, they were not saucy and mostly flavourless, when I mentioned this and asked for hot sauce they told me hot sauce was an extra $1.50, to be honest, I should have just sent the wings back. Service was not good, server was not attentive and made no effort to communicate with our table.
Side note: this place was EXTREMELY loud and packed with children and several tables had toddlers and new-borns. Almost every table had kids at it. I dont have kids; but I expect kids to be at the bar these days because "its 2024" but new borns at the bar... common...
Overall experience; service=terrible, food=terrible, atmosphere=beyond terrible. There will have to be something in the air if I ever come back to this place after tonight.
Review from 2 years ago: Came for wing Monday. Variety of wing flavors was excellent.
Table ordered 5 kinds and they all tasted great.
Wings also seemed fresher and higher quality than many other places I have been recently.
Service was quick and decent, no complaints.
Drinks and food slightly on the more expensive side, but prices did not drive us away...
